The part about the best guys not committing yet is true for everyone, and those top guys may not even choose LSU. Stop making that excuse. The top schools are able to close big time guys early, so why can't we?

I'm so confused why everyone is melting over this class. We're in the top 15 while meeting our biggest needs and if we get the guys we want (aka Marshall, Surtain, etc.) it sets us up for a top 10 finish while still addressing the trenches with some big bodies. Some of y'all need to calm down.

The coaching staff went out and got guys who fill needs - namely on both lines.
Recruiting is far from over, but I, for one, am extremely fired up for who we've signed so far.

This is what I keep coming back to. LSU did not settle for these players; they selected them. Let's see how it pans out. I'm keeping an open mind.
I believe that the cardinal rule of recruiting is to get at least 8 big uglies every year. This has been a shortcoming of ours, but this year we have 10. Complete this class with DBs and WRs, and if our coaches are evaluating well we'll have a great class.

I am thrilled with this class. It seems as though O and staff decided to fortify the trenches on both sides of the ball. That goal was accomplished. Now finish up with the "glitter" players. Hopefully that will push us to the 8-12 finish range.

I don’t either but only time will tell..past years we won games on talent alone...that shite won’t fly with with so many strong coaches throughout the sec...I have little faith CEO can develope his players better than CLM and I highly doubt our Coordinators will be here more than a couple years if that.

I think he's full of shite. Clemson never recruits as good as LSU and look what they've done. once again, clemsons #12 class might be better than les miles #4 class. LSU is recruiting needs this year and JUCO guys. if we close with all 4star or better we will be top 10 with some 3 stars that show a lot of potential.

This is word for word stuff that was used for LSU's 2012 Class which was one of the worst in recent history. It isn't a zero sum game. You meet the needs of your roster while also getting good players. It doesn't have to be one or the other.

The whole "these guys are underrated" and "stars don't matter" responses to the class are not the kinds of things you want to hear on signing day.

Ok smart one, where are all those big time OLman starting? I'll bet most don't do a darn thing where they're going, and this isn't what I heard. They were let go bc our coaches thought they could rebuild it with much better players.
You see some coaches prefer kids that are good young men instead of kids who just want to use your school to get to the next level. Those kids don't care. We also switched HCs and so there is attrition which happens at those times, EVERY WHERE, so no it has zero to do with our coaches or staff.
I just love when people talk out of their arse bc they heard it on the freakn rant and now it's fact. I like our OL recruits much better than in the past so LSU needed to do this. LSU won some big games with an average QB, and injuries all along the lines of scrimmage. We played more freahman than ever BF. LSU had a very young team and coach O did just as good as Miles has been for half a decade now. Once he builds his team into the style he wants LSU will likely win many more games.
