Perhaps a former Nebraska/mid west coach on our staff could help influence his decision to come to BR.

Iowa just hates Nebraska and can’t picture Fidone leaving the state for a program they view as inferior, LSU would be easier for them to swallow.

I’m glad you posted I didn’t know how to and just seen this says he posted it an hour ago. He’s always posting himself with LSU edits and he seems to have a genuine love of LSU and Coach O! Reel em in coach!!

LSU or Nebraska.......
Is there really a decision he needs to think about?
Should be an easy one

Sit the bench at LSU for two years, or start immediately at Nebraska?

Do you remember when this was the argument we used to make about Bama? The other one was, come to LSU and help get us back to championship level and you'll be a hometown legend.

Who says he'd sit the bench for two years while at LSU? I'm sure LSU can find a way to get Fidone on the field.

We are working receivers in on different formations constantly. There is always going to be a match up scheme available to get guys on the field. That's the beauty if the system. If he's good enough, he will have his moments to shine. Only other concern would maybe be the addition of Storz(don't know if I spelled that correctly) from the baseball team to the TE position. Coach O talked highly of him.

Fidone and Gilbert will be our Hernandez and Gronk, without the murders.

And they already said that he could play some wide receiver Fidone could see the field a lot as a true freshman. Take this negative stuff out of here. These kids coming in don't want to sit on the bench and this guy might only be here 3 years.

Comments like this are why I come to the rb

This is so short-sighted it’s not even funny.

He is trying to show how silly some of us sounded.. You left off his following sentence..

quote:

Do you remember when this was the argument we used to make about Bama? The other one was, come to LSU and help get us back to championship level and you'll be a hometown legend.

The whole point is elite talent should go wherever they want.. including top tier programs loaded with other elite talent. It all sounds nice to say stay home and be a legend and maybe we'll improve.. but it's a bit nicer to actually be a top program that the best want to flock to.. regardless of depth/talent.

Of course he can find his way onto the field early on, even at LSU. Especially as a pass catching TE.. Having Gilbert already would just make things even better for him, IMO.

I could see Gilbert utilized more as a big bodied WR with Fidone and Taylor as your true TE
