Total defensive overhaul at seasons end
This. There is nothing to sell recruits on and 2024 is a must get class. This defensive staff has failed in every way imaginable. The fact that Jenkins made that big of a difference in 1 week is another straw on the camels back. Throw in the misuse of Perkins, inability to put out an average defense and many other issues with this defense, it’s time to cut our losses and not screw up the next hire.

I remember a video a couple games back of Frank with the DBs getting them fired up before a game and wondered where are Cooks and Steeples? Maybe that should have been a sign.

I want him gone
3 recruiting cycles is a big enough sample size
Yeah LSU isn't a program that should have this much trouble getting elite DBs to come here.
We're DBU. Go find the right position coaches to let recruits know we're getting back to that.

Recruits may know Steeples is gone after the season.
Steeples may know and has shut it down.

So tired of getting destroyed in recruiting

Even after the Auburn weekend visit?

Weren't people touting Steeples as a rising star last year??

Unfortunately Steeples is just too easy to recruit against. You look at the UGA CB coach and he cut his teeth recruiting for the likes of Temple and Baylor before jumping in SEC waters. After NIL, “preparing for the next level” is the top selling point for recruits.
Of course it would help if the veteran safety coach could jump in and fill in that “preparing for the next level” card, but Cooks’ incompetence knows no bounds. That was an absolutely pathetic hire by Kelly.

CB recruiting continues to be less than desirable

crazy. if you are talented, you gotta think you are going to start for 3 or 4 years if you are a corner.
The coaching or recruiting for this position must be well below par for a talented recruit to not sign with us this year specifically. A 5 star or high 4 star, you would almost bet money they start for at least 3 years if they arrived on campus next season.
How can’t we sell that?

Be careful. People may downvote you if you even dare criticize part of this coaching staff

So next year we have to hope Harris, JK Johnson and Stamps can hold down the fort until new DB coaches can impress future recruits

We went from being DBU to a kid saying he’s going to Georgia where he knows he will develop. We were spoiled with the players we had committed in 2024’s secondary class, if we don’t somehow finish strong, our corners, safeties and dlinmen will continue to suck

UGA brought in a truck load of money. UGA has 2 corners in the top 7 overall corners in this class and he still went there.

This guy has LSU to thank for blowing up his recruitment, and he just dropped us.

Kirby just fckn gets it. You want to stay elite? Pay them and develop them. He’s doing both.

Don’t use that excuse when talking about the #1 team in the nation for almost 3 years. What the kid said is correct about knowing he will develop. Our defensive coaching staff looks like a clown show.
