I am not reading the entire thread..
It is a possiblity that this means LSU got some good vibe on Montgomery coming to LSU, thus the talk with the parents and coaches from the article?
sorry if covered already

Really ? You wouldn't commit to another team if your team didn't offer ? If you wanted to play and have a chance at the next level and thought this was your best shot, you wouldn't take it ?
apparently, you do not know what a LIFE-LONG FAN is because a life-long fan would not go to their RIVAL when given a great chance to go to the college you love. unless he is retarded so i guess that's why he went to the Gumps!

I think he signs with LSU...until a hear a credible sourse tell me otherwise...

Hold up.........so every coach in Louisiana is susposed to be an LSU fan and tell their kids that LSU is the only place they need to be, regardless if it might be the best for their career or it is where deep down in their heart they feel that they need to be ? You're saying all Louisiana head football coaches are susposed recruiters for LSU now ?

Here's a link to a BOL article, quoting his destrehan coach saying he did, in fact, receive an offer from LSU. You'll have to be a rivals member to read it.
This probably has more to do with momma wanting him to honor his commitment to the school that never let up.

Why are you lumping Sentimore in with Montgomery? They are 2 different players.

Sentimore will not be at LSU or Alabama. The best he can do is JUCO. So all LSU fans quit worrying about Sentimore and get a life. The sun will come up tomorrow in the east and set in the west.

Making a decision for his future and honoring a commitment seem to be more important to him than his "fanhood". If the guy thinks that this is best for him, I'm all for it and wish him well.
I'll give you the "honoring a commitment" part of it but the notion that playing at Alabama is somehow better for him than playing at LSU is preposterous. Utterly preposterous. First, both play in the SEC, both at highly respected programs. At both, he'll get to be evaluated by NFL scouts and, if he performs well, get tons of attention. At both, there is a possibility of playing for a MNC or two during his career. And I'm being charitable and objective on the foregoing. Now, the style of DT he plays fits better into LSU's scheme than the Bama scheme. That's pretty friggin important. Lastly, his family lives in Louisiana and he'd be closer to home.
So even without being a "life-long fan," you cannot tell me that Bama is better for him than LSU. In fact, you can only argue that LSU would be the better fit.
I'll respect the commitment thing but I'm telling you this kid is going to regret becoming a Bama football player. Bama did him no favors and LSU did not wrong him.

Gumps were doing that with Stinson and Sentimore, thinking if we got one we wouldn't get the other, even though one's a DE/DT and one's a Jack.

Montgomery won't be here either imo..

Who is the "other guy" DS sat down with. If he is a Bama alum, isn't that a violation? Not that it matters of course.
Something strange about all of this. DS wants to go to LSU and tells people so all weekend. Then, he sits down with his coach and another guy amd they tell him to honor his commitment. So, he is not going to the school he wants to go to so that he can please others? Are you kidding me?
This "honor your commitment" garbage is coming from the same coach who walked out on LSU amd Miami to do "what was best for his family" and upon being hired at Alabama in January, 2007, went after every LSU recruit he could. He is still trying to turn Janzen Jackson and Kenny Bell to Alabama, even though they have been committed to LSU for months. The only time Saban cares about commitment is when it benefits him. What a hypocrite.
What an absolute liar Saban is. Why would any Louisiana caoch or player not see this?

could he be honoring a commitment that he made in spite/anger at the school he "wanted" to go to? what an ironic moral revelation he has had.

Sentimore is not a DT in Bama's scheme. He is a DE.

This article has no quotes and according to all everyones sources DS said he was going to be tiger. Sonny said there would be a lot of BS rumors down the stretch and this is one.

I'm just glad we didn't have to go through this ridiculousness with Shep, Ford, and Davenport. I'm glad they never wavered. I'm glad they never played games. I'm glad they were eligible and didn't need to worry about JC. And I'm glad I get to see them play for the next few years. As for Sentimore, good luck at Alabama and I hope you don't regret your decision.

Because his high school head coach isn't a credible source...

That's all fine and dandy and I don't disagree in the slightest bit. But it doesn't matter one bit what you and I think is best for him. It only matters what he and his advisors think is beter for him. They obviously think that Bama is the better fit.

Dear Lord, you guys on here preach moan and groan about people showing integrity and and keeping their word, and then this goes does it and you bash him for it. You can't have it both ways just to please LSU
I was born and raised a LIFE LONG Alabama fan..........if I was in the position to be recruited by Alabama but didn't get an offer, but another big time program offered, dang right I would take it, even if it was Auburn because I loved the game, wanted to play, found coaches who believed in me from the start, and felt I could have a chance to compete and move on to the next level.

To Sent's defense, if Miles and Co. wouldve been on him hard all year long, he would not have wavered. Not saying I disagree with how our staff handled the situation, I think they need to tell kids that they arent going to come after them really hard unless they have the grades.
