So why is Steve Wiltfong from 247 on Jordy Hultberg's radio show right now saying Phillips is still committed to Oklahoma? Always thought his show was live, but maybe not??
I mean, that guy's own website says its a done deal. Phillips twitter says its a done deal. He has started recruiting Chaisson on twitter.
Must be a recording.

OU fans responding to his Tweet sure are reinforcing the stereotype. Wow, they loved him yesterday and now they're throwing him to the wolves.
We did the same thing with Moses, but then we moved on and got a better one. I can't believe the amount of fans scolding him about "commitment" and questioning if he knows what it means.
He wanted LSU before he wanted OU. Les blew the dog. Les was fired. O was hired. O turned up the heat. O landed Phillips.
Phillips made a personal choice. He chose to be developed into an elite NFL linebacker. He decommitted from a team that pistols their way through a weak conference with offense alone.
He then committed to the best defensive coordinator in CFB. He saw opportunity to stand out whilst being part of an elite, world class defense. He could have stood out at OU too, as the lone playmaker on defense. But he chose a good defense over being a spotlight guy. That shows exemplary character.
To those now criticizing and bashing him...

Where the O haters at?
Anyone can recruit to LSU.
Well that's what I was told the past 12 years.
Welcome Jacob. Also a classy response from him. No trolling. Let's keep bringing in the high character guys.

The OU salt on this one is so fantastic. Their fanbase sucks so much.

Heck of a get at a spot we badly need talent at.

I knew LSU was going to get a blue chip linebacker to fill the need. The program and defensive coordinator are too good not to have a blue chipper from somewhere come here. Look at the tackle statistics that our linebackers had this year under Aranda's scheme. A blue chip linebacker has a chance to start here next year and will have insane statistics by the time he is draft eligible as a Junior. It would be dumb to not come here. Those boys who left to go to bama? Will not likely see the field for a season...maybe two and will not have the statistics that the LSU linebackers will have. Bama guys may still get drafted high...but they will not have as much playing time as the LSU guys will have had.

Welcome to the Tiger family Jacob. I watched you demonstrate your skills at the all star game, and I'm excited to see you perform in Purple and Gold. Here's to an injury free, successful career, both at LSU and the NFL.
