Not even close. It’s OL play, as the lack of a consistent run game all season and pass protection issues after Dellinger went down were the cause of a lot of Nuss’ issues during that terrible three game stretch. Nuss does need to improve, but he doesn’t need the weight of the entire offense placed on him.

I think we have the potential to field more overall talent on the OL next season, but everything will hinge on them coming together quickly.

Except he’s not trolling.

Any objective look at 2024 shows you that when Nuss was good we were good and when he was shite we were really shite.

Nuss was shite because of some fundamental flaws in his game. Very basic stuff.

He was always 3 to 4 picks waiting to happen and it finally happened at A&M.

If he could fix the fundamental flaw, which should not be that difficult, 2025 can be a phenomenal year.

If LSU used some of this $$ from Underwood, they may have a better team with more depth next year. Hoping for a playoff

I'm not as high on him as I was on Burrow or Daniels going into their 2nd seasons as starter but you say this like he's Brandon Harris or Andrew Hatch. Nuss brings a lot to the table. Give him a reliable running game and a functional center and he'll throw for a shite ton of yards and TDs. I still haven't seen the elite poise and pocket presence but he certainly doesn't suck.

Game 1 is always an excuse with BK at LSU.

The issue is we've been saying literally the same thing since the SECCG performance against UGA. He was just on the right side of variance that night but threw some YOLO balls. That's just his nature...that and throwing off his back foot for whatever reason.

Chester got pushed into the backfield a lot last season. That's not the sole reason for the bad mechanics, but a symptom. The last couple games Nuss stepped up in the pocket and his completions went back up to 76 and 71% with no INTs. Solidify the IOL and that should improve.

I don't think any of us have the crystal ball, but Lester is right on this point, Nuss has to step up his game and make improvements in footwork, pocket awareness, getting the ball out quickly, learning to run when it's available, taking better care of the ball, etc. So, we can all bash LE but he's pretty much on-point here. Now, most of us think Nuss will be really good next year, and he probably will be. I have high hopes, but he's got to get better (as most of our players need to do). If they get coached up, we're in for a damn strong year in 2025.

Underwood, Stewart, and Meadows money is being effectively spread around like peanut butter....and we are NOT done. Set the pace CBK!

I guess Delly going down in that game and A&M suddenly getting more pressure on Nuss after that and that continuing over the 4 games that followed was purely coincidental.

You know who doesn’t leave when you stack talent?

The starters and the confident younger guys.

I agree. BK’s job is to field the best team. Period. He can’t run off the younger future, but I’m all for assembling the best and letting it sort out

It amazes me how much hate people get for saying Nuss needs to not suck for any of this to matter.

He single handedly lost 2 games, arguably 3, and by some miracle we pulled OM and USCe out of our asses. Throwing the ball straight to a safety /corner instead of out of bounds, is not a result of him “being asked to do too much.” Refusing to run is not scheme, or blocking, or whatever. It’s stupidity. Both are very correctable DURING THE SEASON, and yet… he didn’t do it.

Nuss was a PROBLEM for LSU this year.
