Walker from Barbe going to Miss St, McGehee from Tioga going to Ole Miss, and Woods from OCS going to Bama. These are perhaps the best 3 arms in the state and they are all leaving. Does anyone know why these kids are leaving and if they were recruited by LSU?

Peyton Stovall at Haughton going to Arkansas already has 10 homeruns on the season

A) are they better than the out of state arms we have in the class?

B) do we have the scholarship capacity to match what those schools are giving them?

I noticed you also conveniently left out Grant Fontenot who we flipped from Texas A&M. But I guess that doesn't fit your narrative.

It’s time for change with LSU baseball. When your head coach says the wind decides who will play second base there’s a problem. ??

LSU is recruiting a lot of out of state players as well
You don't know how those compare to the instate guys
LSU is offering these kids as freshmen
This year's class could lose a lot based on draft potential

They passed on Jack Walker but they already have three Barbe players committed
Those programs can offer everything LSU can as well
Bianco still has a lot of ties to LA and has always had a couple of players from this state
Ark is right on the border
Lemonis has done more LA recruiting than any previous Miss St coach has done and some of that was started with Cannizaro

Feel like Arkansas never even recruits LA either which is weird - who was the last Louisiana kid Arkansas had on their roster?

The last one that I can remember is Jackson Rutledge (one of two Jackson Rutledges they had on their roster at the time). The one from Lousiana transferred out to JUCO and is now at Delta State. The one from St Louis transferred to JUCO and became a first round pick of the Nationals.

TOPS should make it nearly impossible for other schools to compete for Louisiana prospects.

The biggest issue is the head coach doesn't recruit. Under no circumstances should Paul still be the LSU coach. We would run Coach O out of the door if he didn't recruit.

TOPS is neutralized by the 35 man roster size
You can't stockpile LA players as much due to limited roster size

At least one of the other schools mentioned in this thread operates the same way and has for longer than LSU with even less contact between recruits and the head coach than LSU has.

Especially not when other schools are going to give them more scholarship money. It doesn't just happen with out of state schools, it happens with in state guys as well.

My question is how much is the overloaded roster this year causing issues with the future recruiting more kids. Are we just going to have to take less 2021 guys?

I have no narrative. I’m simply asking if Paul recruited these in state guys that are leaving and going to play for LSU rivals.

There aren’t enough scholarships to grab every good player in the state. This has been the case for years. shite there was a point in time where LSU couldn’t get a stud pitcher out of barbe to save their life

We are currently at 38 players. Next year the roster limit is 40. We are at 53/40 for next year as far as players with eligibility. I'd say we are still under 40 as far as players currently on the list that are likely to be on campus next year.

I know a kid from BR who went to Miss State at a position of need last year.

Said first thing Pawl told them was “You should be lucky you’re standing in my office”. Knew right then that he wouldn’t be at LSU

Well, Dylan and his 4 innings pitched are certainly missed, but if he didn't feel fortunate to be recruited by LSU then who gives a shite. Being recruited by LSU is an honor. If he took offense to the coach saying that, that's a him problem.
