Wing will go pro after this year but it will be as an Offensive lineman.

Agree about Wing not leaving early. Punters very rarely get drafted. A complete waste of time for him to leave early. Can you imagine the fun that kid is having at LSU? All he has to do is go to class, practice a couple of hours a day and party and frick hot coeds the rest of the time. No way I would leave that for a tryout for an NFL team. The guy is a celebrity at LSU and will never be more famous than he will be during his career at LSU. Absolutely no way I would leave and I highly doubt he does.

Wing was considered by many(outside of LSU) to be the best punter in the country even as a red-shirt freshman. He can graduate in two years or less and leave before his senior season. He could possibly find the girl that he likes and want to settle down with a six figure paycheck. I have no doubt in my mind that Brad Wing will get drafted and his performance on the field would've made him draftable this time around if he were eligible.

Did we need another punter? Isn't Brad Wing a Sophomore?
Wait until Les gives his little brother a scholarship-heads will explode.

His brother still has a while before he can get on campus right?

Yes after this next year he could go pro. Three year rule redshirt Soph.

How people can question putting a kicker on scholly is beyond me. Look back from 05 and there are numerous games won strictly with special teams. Its a postion on the team and every pisition requires depth.

It can probably be said that Wing was one of the major reasons LSU BEAT AL in last years' first game.

Is he eligible to compete for us in track as well?

Wing leaves after winning the 2012 heisman trophy and al davis, through a medium, drafts wing in the first round. He loves him some freaks
Serious question though: Does Keehn know the Wing family or something because having 2 Australian players is almost unheard of?

Are people stupid enough to think that Brad Wing will hang around for the full 4 years? If this new guy red shirts, he might be called on sooner than any thinks. The coaching staff is not ignorant of the fact that Brad could leave early.
Holy shite mental note to block out your posts as full blown retard.

The efforts to teach Australians to punt an American football, have grown enormously the last few years. Prokick Australia, has been advertising extensively during major tv sports programs and obviously it is now paying off.
Brad Wing, arrived at LSU via other means. (US High School)
At least a dozen Aussies have signed/committed over the last year, and more to come in the next few days.

LOL, people read dandy don and now think Wing will declare early for the NFL as a PUNTER....
Posted on 3/20/12 at 12:42 am to thunderbird1100
Has that ever happened before?

Doesn't look that way to me. hmmm.. anyway the are calling out his distances and the are good but I don't see anything that makes me think he is as good as wing.
It looks like he can place the ball wherever the hell he wants

Yeah, not trying to crap on the guy. Wing is was the best or at worst second best punter in the country last year. Part of that is accuracy which is underrated aspect of punting to most fans who simply want 65 yard bombs.
And like I jokingly said "we only need a pouch punter because the offense is so good", it is actually partly true.

I would like him to stay 2 more years, but he will be ready after next year. It would be unusual for a punter to leave early, but Wing is good.
