I think I want a back up quarterback with game experience. It wouldn’t surprise me if Myles went down at some point this season. He’s built kind of thin still and he’s not as mobile as Burrow for eluding the rush.

With the lack of practice this year anyone coming in is already behind the eight ball.

And in a complicated system a QB coming in late with little learning time would make a poor backup QB choice I think.

Yea, would be more logical to give it to a position in need of depth and would need to be someone with experience in a similar system.

Pretty sure if they solid information they would have posted it, unless they do and were told not to post it, in which case they still won’t post it here.

And who do you propose, with immediate eligibility, they go after?

I’d have to think it’s Jackson, right? I mean he’s already a commit and tweeted this last week

FYI, Brennan doesn’t really have “game experience” and he’s been here for 3 years and CEO is fine with that

If one analyzes the depth chart honestly and unemotionally, it’s obvious that the single biggest deficiency we have , and the one that could quickly be catastrophic, is at backup QB. Two true freshmen One play away from running the defending national champion is not ideal personnel management. I can only believe the staff has a plan B I am not privy to or thinks Max would do ok in a pinch.

I hope you are joking.
I'd rather they use it on the USC transfer or no one.

Seems like they used the other one on a backup center

ETA: Brennan has more game experience entering 2020 than Burrow did entering 2018.

Scott is the perfect example of waiting out a situation. He transferred, never played at Mizzou, and missed out on winning a Natty. He should have accepted his role, got a ring, and been a lock for a coaching position later...or gone to Harvard.

I doubt he cared much about winning a title as 3rd or 4th QB. He's clearly looking to play college football and wasn't going to here.

Is Parrish definitely gone? He's still listed on the roster.

Regardless, I don't think there's much that can be done about QB at this point. If Brennan goes down we're in big trouble (think 2002/2004/2008).

I don't think we're going to find someone with immediate eligibility who would come here just to be a backup and could actually step in contribute if Brennan gets hurt.
