I look for the day when we can just not have to depend on one of these kids to fill our class. Wouldn't it be great to just fill our class with kids who are just grateful to be called a Tiger and play for LSU? I quit worrying about stars years ago. We want Tigers!

So you'd be fine if we signed 25 1 and 2 star players??? For real though, I get what you're saying, but crap man we all love them 5 stars lol

You are posting this lament on a page DEDICATED to recruiting.

I'm with you! I hate when I hear a kid drop the "my top 7" bullshite.

Did any of the schools outside of the top 10 really not know they were out of it?
The worst part of all is the kids already know where they are going.

If LSU did what you said then they would never compete for any type of championship in football ever again. As matter of fact they would be lucky to even make a low tier bowl. Stars and rankings matter in recruiting and they matter a lot. Sure sometimes there are some busts but that's the exception rather than the rule.

So if you are fine with watching your beloved Tigers get stomped week after week in the SEC then that's a great plan!

What if they have a top 8 and pick LSU, how’s that work?

I know how it comes across to some, but a lot of times it’s a kid trying to tell schools to leave him alone. When you’re getting pressure from 30-40 schools, these lists are a way of telling some they can save their time/energy. It comes across as spoiled brats, but for many it’s not as much so as you think.

What's wrong with "I'm not going to play for your team so please quit calling me?"

It doesn't work. Sometimes the top 5/10 doesn't work. Hell, sometimes committing and saying you're done doesn't work.

It’s all a part of the shite show that is big time college recruiting. I usually ignore everyone’s top 10/top 5/whatever lists

Anyone want to bet that this Sopsher kid from Amite made up his mind months ago. Just saying. I am not saying take poor players. The coaches holding these camps see first hand what kind of player and athlete these kids are. I see people on here scoffing at some of the kids these coaches offer. The Bama bump is real, you know why? Because the experts know that if a certain coach offers a kid, he is all that and a bag of chips. I think LSU will get the same bump for a lot of the kids that we offered. The 5 for 5 worked to our favor. The 3 we missed on were better off not coming.

Top 8 is fine early on in a recruitment, but once you start getting to 10, 12, and 15 I think that’s a little ridiculous.

Agreed. I don’t mind a recruit putting out a top 5 list. It’s the top 15-20 lists that have got to go.

When these young men make a big deal of “narrowing” their choice to 8 or 10, it reflects very poorly. They are not serious about picking a school and care only about Followers. I immediately discount them, because they have little credibility.

Unless he’s a 5* announcing his top 3, I couldn’t care less. If we aren’t in the top 10 for a 3* or 4* player, then there are probably 20 other guys at the same position who do have us in their top 10.
