Hudson has 17 power 5 offers for hoops.
Is he still planning on playing football?
Ruston sophomore Ahmad Hudson and Huntington senior Carley Hamilton are the boys and girls basketball players of the year in Class 5A for the 2024-25 season, as selected by a panel of reporters on behalf of the Louisiana Sports Writers Association.
The 6-foot-8 Hudson became a two-time first-team all-state selection with 21 points, 14 rebounds and three blocked shots per game – earning him District 2-5A MVP recognition for a team that lost in the state quarterfinals. He holds offers from 17 power conference schools.
Hamilton led No. 4 seeded Huntington to a Division I select state championship as she averaged 21.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, four assists and four steals. She scored 27 points in the title game against Woodlawn-Baton Rouge and was selected as the outstanding player for the game.
State championship winning coaches Wade Mason of St. Augustine and Tami McClure of Zachary were selected as the boys and girls coaches of the year.
Mason guided St. Augustine to the state title in his first season as head coach. He played on the 1995 team at St. Aug that won a state championship.

I love a big fella that can hoop. They frequently translate to being elite tackles in football.

Yes, will probably be a 5-Star recruit in football as well.

Looked him up, sounds like he may be Karl Malone grandson.

Just got in a wormhole with his highlights. Hope we keep tabs on him because I would bet he will not be playing in Louisiana next season.

Is that some extreme flubbing on his height or accurate?
He's listed at 6'5 basically everywhere

So he’s the product of a pedofile (Malone)?
Posted on 4/7/25 at 11:31 pm to thunderbird1100
He’s more like 6’4”-6’5”

I'm still of the opinion if he keeps growing basically at all at this point he will outgrow football. Dont see too many 6'8-6'9 TEs out there
At some point you basically become too tall to be that coordinated overall to play that position

Yeah, 6’7 is about as tall as you see most TE’s. Many are in the 6’4-6’6 range. You become a liability as a blocker when you’re any taller than that because you’ll have difficulty creating leverage against a shorter defender.

Has nothing to do with the kid. Shouldn't even be brought up in a conversation about the kid but I get the need to point it out whenever the grandfather's name comes up

Yep. Just never miss a chance to throw shade at Malone.

I think his dad played at Tech as well. If I remember correctly is Cheryl's twin brother?
