I found this pretty cool. The current top 10 classes on 247 are as follows:

1. Clemson
2. Alabama
3. Georgia
4. Ohio State
5. LSU
6. Texas A&M
7. Florida
8. Auburn
9. Oklahoma
10. Texas

LINK

LSU is going against the best of the best every week. If that doesn't make you want to come play for LSU, then I don't know what to tell you.

Arguably the best Strength of Record in the history of the sport according to analytics this season

I think this will actually become more apparent over time.

That needs to be posted on the Clemson board, as a rebuttal to their delusional fans saying LSU hasn’t played the schedule Clemson has.

Nope... on the rant, there was a post linking direct quotes from their message board. I was shocked that any fan, even Clemson, couldn’t objectively look at a schedule like ours and come to that conclusion.

What people, myself included, is recruiting rankings is not the end all be all. There are lots of underrated players out there , and LSU pays the coaches very well to evaluate and find them. How about we give them that chance.

After Monday, LSU will have played 7 games vs. top 10 opponents (at game time) THIS YEAR. Clemson will have played 7 games vs. top 10 opponents over the course of 4 YEARS

TBH I believe most people are arguing the degree at which recruiting rankings matter.

In terms of 247 team talent LSU is ranked 5 and Clemson is ranked 9. Obviously it wasn't all team talent that got LSU and Clemson to the National Championship game (albeit both teams have the best talent at the most important position, QB). For example USC is number 4 in 247s total team talent and they suck. Coaching, fit, conditioning, development rates, ect. all play a factor, but you know that.

IMO I believe the 80-20 rule applies to recruiting. Good recruiting classes build a good foundation for your coaches to build upon. That's the 80%. What the coaches do with that talent is the 20%. And that 20% can go negative if you really are a shitty coach.

I'm really happy the Coach O takes recruiting very very seriously.

They are correct, except it's the reverse of what they think it means.

nobody denies that outliers exist

but it is pretty obvious that recruiting rankings and the best teams are directly connected

Clemson fans are delusional. That being said, their team is very good and if the game is close they will feel validated in their claims at the very least. Nothing we can do except more programs develop in the ACC.

Yes, it is something that is known as "cause and effect". Bama signs a 3-star and he becomes a 4-star. La Tech signs s 3-star and he will be lucky to stay a 3-star and if anything will probably drop. And it won't be because either player has been evaluated by 24/7.

Did you really expect to see Liberty or New Mexico State in the top 10 of recruiting classes? Do you think you will EVER see them in the top 10?

And the only 2 that Clemson has played on that list are likely not examples they want to use to rebut any LSU arguements.

Oof. This post might make sense if Tech was consistently winning and putting lower ranked players in the NFL, while Bama wasn't winning and their players were not making the NFL.

Of course not, because they are not getting the most talented players.

Your post makes no sense.

While somewhat true, I don't believe any team has won the NC since the BCS format, now playoffs, that didn't have top ten talent.

It's still about the talent, though rankings don't measure intangibles.
