This will likely end up being for the best.

Don't get me wrong, I want Stewart and would be ecstatic if he signs with the Tigers today, but a big part of his recruitment makes me feel this way.

This hasn’t happened yet we’ve been talking like it will for years. Only one that did was Denver Harris and there was a reason why. Think these guys that command major NIL don’t come here to begin with for that reason. Don’t expect it to change if they get in the portal.

I think he actually signs with LSU but I stand by my comment if he signs with USC

Losing Stewart is more detrimental than losing BU. It sends a clear message to other schools that LSU isn't a powerhouse contender, allowing them to recruit our top talent without concern.

I’m good with this.

Kid transferred teams in HS
Only has 10games of film
Reclassified to grad early

He might have a high ceiling, but his film doesn’t constitute a huge NIL deal and I’ve seen way more BUST at this position over “can’t miss”

If it takes millions to pry a kid with 10 career games out of the state I think that is cause for concern for other teams. Where do you people come from

Stewart is a junior in high school. Why spend all that money on someone who can't contribute next season when we can get transfers?

Because as a junior in high school, he’s ranked higher than the majority of dlineman older than him.
He’s not so highly sought after by accident. He’s a freak athlete that will develop into a freak dlineman.

You spend money on difference makers and Stewart will be a difference maker

But getting Pickett, an out of state 5 star kid, who is also getting a ton of NIL offers doesnt say anything?

Would love Stewart but if this is true this is the better outcome than the inverse imo given how our coaches turned water into wine with the talent on the roster last year and a big number of other guys coming into at DT this year. We need playmakers on the backend of our defense in the worst way. Guys that allow us to blitz and to get off the field on 3rd down.

There is a long history of freak HS players with even better film and more games played that bombed.

It does not. We are doomed to suck and every other program is better than us. Not sure why we even try anymore

He's more big than a freak.

Maybe scoop Stewart in the portal next year
if he is in the portal that means he has still only played 11 football games. No thank you. High school kids are already hard to predict. HS kids that haven’t been part of a team and the processes that go with it with real tape to see are just a crap shoot. Many kids look like all Americans and play like regular kids when they step on the field.

Someone had told this kid he is so special he doesn’t need to follow the process, These guys are not built fir the grind imo

But no one knows if he'll be a difference maker. He's played 10 games against much inferior talent. His actions around recruitment give pause to his commitment to develop.

How is he going to respond when a 21-year-old 315 lb. guard or tackle weighing 30+ lbs. more punch him in the mouth. It's a high-risk investment and LSU isn't desperate enough or good enough to take that risk. He's passing on being coached by one of the best in the business, Bo Davis, 75 miles from his home to go to Los Angeles. Think about that decision and how that projects to his development.

truer words never spoken. With a coach at USC that probably doesn’t survive next year.

I think Stewart will be in the portal after his Sophomore year at the latest looking for another payday.
