commitment watch

I hope ya'll can convince me otherwise, but there's a small interview 2 days ago on 247, with Guillory stating that Saban told him he wants him, and liked his quickness. Guillory says its between us and Bama, and he's thinking about going back on an official visit to Alabama. I know this is Bama's Hank South and hopefully he's just telling him what he wants to hear. Has he scheduled an official with them yet? I've seen this movie before, and it makes me a little uneasy. Tell me I'm wrong.

The Bayou State product had the opportunity to talk with UA defensive linemen Phidarian Mathis and Raekwon Davis.
“They produce D-linemen,” he said. “I like getting a chance to talk to them and all that.”
Guillory has over a dozen offers, but two are on his mind more than others.

“It’s going to be Alabama or LSU,” he said. “They’re both number one to me. I love being at both places.”
As for a decision timeline?
“I know I’ve been saying July, but really I have no clue,” Guillory said.

The four-star defensive lineman says he may return next week to Tuscaloosa for an official visit, but it’s not set in stone yet.

I feel like I hear this same story every year and I already know how it ends. I really hope I’m wrong.

I'm with you... I only have info that comes from here on Guillory, with guys saying he's LSU(hopefully). Vol and others saying it. Jus hate this happening every year. Hope he makes the wise choice.

TexasTiger24, Vol,... input?

I will say thst I got a pretty odd comment from
a coach there. Something along the line of ‘he Will do what’s best for him’.

Almost sounded like the business decision. This was month ago or more so maybe I am just paranoid.

Guys who played for LSU in the past and will play for us in the future have pizazz, character personalities, fame, Shaq, Pistol, Odell, Jarvis, Buger, Marcus Spears, Whitworth, Devin White etc.etc. We'll keep grinding them out. The best and brightest make the right decision and play for the Tigers!

Next one up. I certainly wouldn't hang on every word he says. Sounds like he's playing the old Saban game. That's why O is recruiting nationwide now so as not to get caught again.

In my opinion, the best result of this strategy so far was signing Jamal Adams after Bama took Hootie Jones. I'm hoping O can secure a few 4* DL from out west and fill up the class. Don't wait on Roy and Guillory. Take them if they want to commit but no one should be hanging on the decision of any 17 year old kid. For once I wish these kids wouldn't play this game.

We have to match whatever Bama is offering and then some. The trend has to change. Guillory and Roy are impact players at positions of need right here at home. O has to do whatever is necessary to get them.

The first legit highly- evaluated guy who commits should get the spot. No more “ holding “ spots. The net has to be far and wide or we end up holding our dicks at the alter wondering WTF happened.

I hope he commits soon. But if he doesn’t recognize the opportunity than give it to a guy who does.

It’s amazing how one of the best DL coaches in the country who just so happens to be our HC can’t recruit his position. Better hope we get Roy and Guillory and at least 2 others cause if not we gonna trouble come 2020 season

BDTiger is actually absolutely correct. If O misses on Roy or Guillory, LSU will not beat Bama anytime soon. Saban knows that the trenches win ball games. That’s why he could care less if LSU gets all the 4-5 star DB’s in the South, as long as he beats our arse upfront Bama wins. He focuses on taking our lineman, even if it means using one of his spots. Don’t know why some of you can’t comprehend this shite?!!!!

Yep. All our chips need to be in on Roy, Gullory, and Jalen Lee. All 4 Star DT’s less than 2 hours from campus. O should stop at nothing to get them even if it means meeting the midget at Sonic.
