BDTiger is actually absolutely correct. If O misses on Roy or Guillory, LSU will not beat Bama anytime soon. Saban knows that the trenches win ball games. That’s why he could care less if LSU gets all the 4-5 star DB’s in the South, as long as he beats our arse upfront Bama wins. He focuses on taking our lineman, even if it means using one of his spots. Don’t know why some of you can’t comprehend this shite?!!!!

Drink some decaf, my friend. While I agree, and would love to land both of these guys, there is rarely any one recruit that will dictate the future of a program.

I personally think that O is doing the best thing in this scenario which is to recruit in other areas. No more holding a spot, or waiting too long for one guy.

The four-star defensive lineman says he may return next week to Tuscaloosa for an official visit, but it’s not set in stone yet.

Welp. There goes another one. At this point, there's nothing you can do about it until he retires.

It’s amazing how one of the best DL coaches in the country who just so happens to be our HC can’t recruit his position. Better hope we get Roy and Guillory and at least 2 others cause if not we gonna trouble come 2020 season

There is some validity to what you are saying, but you aren’t looking at the entire equation. While O is thought of as one of the top recruiters in the country, the person stealing those top line recruits from us is also thought of as a top recruiter in the country and he is recruiting for one of the top programs, arguably you can say the top, in the country that just happens to be just one state away from us!

I agree O has to start winning these battles, it would sure help the cause if we can beat them on the field. Because right now Saban has the ultimate trump cards when he says “if you come here you will absolutely play for NC’s and if you go to LSU we will just continue to beat you every year!”

Actually you are correct, I know two ex-Bama coaches under Saban. Both of them have said they actually do discuss the ramifications on other teams when they go in a raid another SEC state and take players! Don’t get me wrong, I was told they obviously don’t focus on it but for example the what I was told, if they have two recruits they rate basically the same for the same position and one is in Kansas and one is in Louisiana, they are going to turn the heat up the most on the Louisiana prospect and have the Kansas prospect as the fall back. They kill two birds with one stone, and they both said it that way. They get a quality guy they were after and they keep that prospect from possibly hurting Bama if at LSU. They both said it is definitely a factor when they discuss prospects, but it is more like “yes we want that kid, and oh look we get to stick it to LSU also, that is a win/win for us.

Ok wait,... I said I was nervous, not that I was throwing in the towel. We can still land him. Don't go to the other extreme so easily, main.

Like he told Devin White, “Ok, go to LSU, but we’ll beat you every year.”
I hate that little bastard. This is why, after he retires and people at LSU get the warm and fuzzies about what he did here and want to honor him, I’ll carry my torch and pitchfork to any ceremony and go to jail that day. This guy has gone out of his way to destroy this program.

We do the same. Kennedy was about that. He was a great want but not a terrific need. Sampah is actually a better all around athlete. They have more resources and they go to war with those sawed shot guns when it comes to protecting their four and five stars in state vs. poachers.

In La. too many different factions and folks begging to be handlers for there to be a united front. Friends of LSU do their best but some folks in the state don't have the flagship's schools best interests in mind. Just need more powerful LSU folks squashing out the detractors politically.

Saban gets police escort when recruiting in state. He was buddies with the former Chief of the State Police who is no more. And I am still slightly surprised some crazy coona** hasn't tried to take a shot at him. It would be a horrible tragedy failed attempt or not of course and just shows how crazy folks with no emotional intelligence can cause harm in our society. It is just a game y'all. It is a business too but...

I think these kids are making a huge mistake. Come play for the Tigers and start early in your career on a stacked defense. Be a home town favorite in your home state. Beat the gumps or at least have the backbone to bow up for the boot! I guess I was raised differently, I always liked a challenge, especially when I couldn't lose.

So Louisiana tax payers are paying the state police to escort an out-of-state coach from school to school? To facilitate his taking talent away from the in-state programs?

That's the problem right there. The little midget gets to come here and is escorted and treated like a freaking world class celebrity. If I ever saw the little punk in public I would let him know just how I felt about him.
