Could be a case of a better eval (LSU didn't give this kid the time of day) or wanting to keep the Louisiana connection alive.
His ranking will shoot up no matter what his senior season looks like now though.

They are conceeding on the other RBs, maybe werent as high in the pecking order for Evans as they thought

I'll bet the Bama boards have already convinced themselves he's better than Evans.
When LSU gets an Alabama kid that Alabama didn't offer they trash him. I'm sure that same standard doesn't apply here though.

Yeah this had nothing to do with keeping a foothold in the state ala Eddie Smith a couple years back.
Edwards is legit good, just never got the lime-light behind behind Emery for a few years. Get ready for a huge rise for Edwards' ranking. Wouldnt surprise me if he overtook Johnson as #1 RB in state.

Apparently there was no interest on either side.
I'm sure the kid didn't want to get in to a situation where he was behind Emery again and LSU thought it wasn't worth the effort trying to change his mind.

I didnt say Edwards sucked. They missed out on Evans and are moving on. They wouldn't offer him if they thought he didn't have the potential to contribute.

Disagree. Edwards is a quality back, and if LSU was in greater need for RB this year he would be in this class.
I agree with T'bird that his rating will rise. It will be a combination of the Bama commit, but also the fact that he is underrated.
He is not Emery or Davis-Price, but I can tell you he is straight up better than Chris Curry.
