Added Chester.

Man this is a very solid class already. Now we can fight to get the cherry on top with Toviano and Ricks.

Given we’re still not at 85, players graduating/leaving, no per class limit this year and next, how many players do we think we’re gonna sign in this class?

29? 30?

I’m loving this recruiting class but what puts it over the top for me is both the number and quality of OL and DL recruits. Seems like it has been a while since we have seen both in a year like that.

That is very thin at safety, only returning safety with any decent experience is Burns, probably need some transfers at this position

I think you can plug Toviano in at strong safety and Burns probably settles at free safety. Given that he's the veteran back there they'll let him be the quarterback of the defense.

Plus I think Seven Banks can come back and I'd expect him to. He and Rick's would be my bet to start at the corners.

But you can see where the transfers would fit in. They'll want a Jack linebacker (unless they put Perkins there), probably another inside linebacker, maybe a defensive tackle if they can find a really good one and if Roy leaves, a corner to be on the safe side, a safety, a punt returner and maybe a running back.

And if Daniels goes pro they might have to take a quarterback to guard against the possibility that Howard beats out Nussmaier and Nussmaier then leaves, because that would put you with only Ricky Collins as your backup quarterback.

We would have to run out and make the playoffs for Daniels to get the attention to get drafted. I think Daniels will be back and LSU makes a run next year.

He's starting to get a lot of attention. Have you seen some of the updated Heisman odds?

For the season, he's got a better completion percentage, more total yards and more total touchdowns than the reigning Heisman winner.

I really hope he comes back, but he's definitely played himself into a position to get drafted.

That would be my guess as well, but in case he does leave it puts you in a bit of a box.

Not that Nussmaier vs. Howard is a bad problem to have, but the way that's likely to work is Howard wins the battle and if he does you really wouldn't expect Nussmaier to stick around.

So it's entirely likely that you'd get a guy in here over the summer who'd hopefully be a reliable backup for Howard.

Obviously Daniels sticking around makes this not a problem. A Daniels-Howard-Collins quarterback room, even if Nussmaier left, is fine.

Again this is just my opinion but Daniels has just started playing really well the last 3-4 games and has no shot of winning the Heisman. I just dont see him in any way getting drafted in the first couple of rounds. Now if he comes back for another year he will be on the top of the Heisman list and have the opportunity to lead LSU to a special season and his stock will skyrocket and personally I feel like thats what is going to happen. Regardless, Im just happy to see where we are as a team and Im just gonna enjoy the ride...
