Would not surprise me in the slightest to see a Jordan Burch or Zach Evans situation pop up. I don’t think Thomas is a head case like Evans, but there seem to be a lot of forces pushing in different directions here.

Might well be the case, but I’ll still take him! Wasn’t that long ago that Jamar Chase was all KU, then all TCU, then all UF, then committed to us after saying he wanted to go anywhere but LSU. And I think that one turned out ok. The other day my buddy said “he’s a diva”, I responded, “so you’re saying he’s a WR?!?!”

There seems to be a lot of self-interested "adults" pushing in different directions here. I suspect the kid knows and has known for a while where he would like to attend school. Unfortunately, it appears he may have a lot of adults more worried about their OWN interests than the kid's personal interest and he is trying to accommodate them rather than choosing where HE wants to go.

Makes sense Chalky, but I can also see Saban telling him to stay away from lsu due to programs ups and downs right now, Saban hates lsu,

Agreed. From all accounts I’ve seen, the dad is the main piece in his recruiting...shouldn’t be that way.

Bama has four of the top ten high school receivers in one recruiting class. Its amazing the competition didn't scare one or tow away.

Its more amazing, although quite plausible, Bama just ran out of room for receivers and is passing on Thomas, a top 100 overall player.

And LSU has an excellent wr class too, even without Thomas. With Thomas LSU has a super class, with only Ohio State in the discussion.

But Bama's class this year is sick, must be nice to be so loaded to be able to pass on a player as good as Thomas.

Hopefully compliance is vetting this one. This is no shot at Thomas or his family, just an observation that compliance issues are more prevalent in kids who wait after signing day to sign.

I think Thomas would be a great get for LSU.

This could very well turn up as ridiculous as the Zach Evans recruitment was.

Thomas could have signed with LSU at any point from the early signing day to national signing day, and chose to do nothing.

If he does sign here, as Vol said, I wont believe he is actually going to play for LSU until he is on campus working out with the rest of the team.

Its time to cut bait with these drama queen recruits seriously. Other kids who really want to play football here, are non drama types, will put ink to paper and keep their word are the kids that will likely not opt out at some point either.

where exactly has he did anything compared to Zach evans?

He doesn't do any kind of social media, but he's a drama queen?

He hasnt played the misdirection game verbally by talking about 50 different schools he is going to play for, but his complete silence during his entire recruiting cycle is causing the same sort of disruption. Can this kid be trusted to follow through and show up to the college he actually signs his LOA for??

Either way its no skin off my back, but this might not end well.

Makes you think so right. Why would you decide to wear an LSU shirt on the day that you're announcing where you're going!

This has troll job written all over it!

His "silence" is disruptive?
Truth is your impatience is what is creating the anxiety.

"complete silence" towards whom? Social media? Fans? The websites that cover recruiting? He doesn't owe those people ANY information. The only people he owes candor to are the coaches of the schools recruiting him. In fact, I find it a bit refreshing that he isn't on twitter/instagram, etc every day making cryptic and attention seeking posts for loser "adults" to fawn/fret over on a daily basis.

The bigger concern would be is the school he signs with really the school HE wants to attend vs. the school OTHER people in his life want him to attend? That is a recipe for being disgruntled and disinterested from the start, and that kind of poor attitude can spread quickly in a locker room.

This is so wrong. If anything at all, it shows he follows through with everything. Even being committed to not saying a word.

Probably has an A&M shirt underneath.

Rips off the LSU shirt and yells: GIG EM!

I respectfully disagree, Chalky.

I truly believe BTJ has wanted LSU all along, but he and his father weren’t seeing eye-to-eye on things (for whatever reason). And I would bet it became something of a sticky situation because a son never wants to disappoint his father.

My point is - I think it may very well have been a situation where the son wants one thing but the father wants something else for the son. And as is common with many family situations, it probably became a convoluted mess that is hard to resolve because no matter what decision is made, at least one person is upset by the outcome regardless of the decision made.

Instead of allowing the young adult to make his own decision, The overbearing parent is actually causing more harm than good

More like son wants LSU, dad says hold up. We need to get more bids in before you commit to up the value.
