Help refresh my memory. Why did we only sign 22 in 2018 and how did we miss on almost every defensive player we took? I had previously thought that was the coaching change year but after looking that would have been the 2017 recruiting class which was absolutely phenomenal...

Failed on signing day like last year with the WRs...who was the corner that O slow played and went elsewhere? Mario Goodrich? Could use him right about now...

It was Goodrich, To be honest, do we ever hear anything about this kid at Clemson?

Yes but I wanna say we told Goodrich to walk because we "had" Surtain, and we lost both,

It happens every year to LSU which gives us holes. Surtsin, Goodrich, DLine from north LA at Bama, Akers, Ettienne, WR’s last year, Burns and etc.

2018 was a bad year for CBS

We also only took 1 in 2017.

Which is why you see issues when you’re oldest (non Nichols transfer) CB is a Sophmore.

We’ve taken 5 in the last 2 years but not all of them are ready.

It happens. If Joseph and Vincent stay it’s a different team.

One reason was people like and all of the local media trashed orgeron and the program all day long.

+ P Surtain’s sell out arse and our D backfield is the best in the nation. Tough break after tough break and it’s just how Tiger Football always seems to go. We have a Championship team almost every five years through it all and the worst breaks in between....not to mention getting crushed by Bama when it comes to some in state recruits we might have had otherwise if they aren’t a freakin current dynasty.

Just on this years team with kids LSU could have/should have had: Surtain, Moses, D Smith, & C Allen (maybe S Bolden?)...and that’s this year’s team with three of those being first round picks in the league. Go back in recent history and there’s the one the best OTs in CFB history, and so many others.

I know this conversation has been had but it’s tough to swallow this year with what’s happening.

I think Recruiting 3 CBS in 2 years isn’t enough. Even missing on Surtain we should have been taking Goodrich too.

Sure. Guess he's been a stud at Clemson. 20 tackles and 5 PBUs in 318 snaps over 27 games.

We'd surely be undefeated with this contribution!

I'm just glad O went into Saban's backyard and snatched Tae Provens, Peter Parrish, Kendall McCallum, Desmond Little and Jakori Savage. Yeah!

Suck it Saban!

The little one was the worst because they could've saved the scholarship

ArDarius Washington was kicked out of that class too and he’s being talked about as a top draft pick.

We had 2 scholarships remaining in 2018, and we were holding them for Surtain and the QB from Alabama. The QB committed to A&M and we tried to go back and get Goodrich. He said no. Them Surtain went to Bama, leaving us with two spots.

One went to Burrow, the other to the grand transfer corner from Stanford (Alexander?). All told, we came out pretty good, but we have been lagging at recruiting defensive backs the last few years. That shouldn't happen at LSU.

Not sure if you watched a game this season buddy but I’d take a corner that’s in the 2 deep at Clemson in a heartbeat...

Did you see how that Nichols corner played vs State??? Could very well be undefeated.

Agree. Our defensive woes are a combination of things, but we certainly would be better with guys like Surtain and Joseph on the field. Those are the 2 that hurt the most. I am still pissed about the Surtain thing. And we sure are missing Kristin Fulton right now. He didn't get enough credit last year.
