With Ben Simmons coming in we're looking a lot more at other national guys. In state guys are still getting attention but it ain't like we can't go elsewhere to find kids.

but I feel like a lot of folks think Frazier could be another Michael Qualls.
I've used that example. Qualls has turned out well because he developed a decent shot his sophomore season. His freshman, he dunk and that's about it.

Qualls seemed to be wildly inconsistent last season. When he was at his best, which was a decent bit of times, he would go something like 7 for 8 with 20 points and a handful of boards. Then when he was at worst, which was also a decent bit of times, he would go something like 3 for 12, with 6 points and grab a couple boards.
Will be interesting to see if he can become a consistent player this year.

Not sure if anyone saw this. Talks about Ben Simmons possibly being able to go directly to the nba.

If you read down on the tweets Simmons responds to it and says he is finishing school in the US, therefore, making him ineligible for the 2015 Draft.

No, didn't click through and read responses. Probably wouldn't have posted otherwise.

I posted this on the Rant but figured it fit here a bit more. In case anyone missed it, Simmons won the MVP at the NBPA Top 100 Camp. LINK

Does skylar mays decommiting sound that bad?

Totally agree. My only reservation is id like to keep local major program players at home ie Sampson and mays.

Agree. I wouldnt worry about mays. It could even be that the staff has gained ground on a higher rated prospect and told him to look around. Still think he is a tiger.
I get where ppl in the other thread arr coming from, but this isnt football recruiting.

i just want to see talented players and classes added every year. lsu didn't get damian jones, but they got jordan mickey. they still came out ahead. the local factor only factors in when you don't bring in an equally or more talented player.

I'd say the pressure of bringing a local guy in is larger...
1) You HAVE to play them or it upsets people.
2) You can't get rid of them or it upsets people.
3) If they don't succeed, it'll be blamed more on the coach (as with any recruit) and since it's a local kid, the fire is hotter so to speak.

I haven't been following basketball recruiting too closely but, are there any senior transfers that we're looking at?

None really. Kid from Prov is likely the last name we hear for this class.
