I don’t think anyone is mad at the kid.

Oregon the next A&M?

No because they’re not incompetent retards.

Oregon, with a good head coach and a booster that’s ready to spend billions is a problem.

How pathetic to try and diminish him. He's considered a 5 star WR for a reason.

That's what Oregon is paying Moore. A 5'11, 180 lb. high school senior. Good luck!

From Texas, that will be playing half of his games in the pnw and the other half in the Midwest. Good luck indeed.

Let's not say crazy stuff because we are mad. Oregon offense is built to get the ball to it's playmakers out in the open. If he puts in the work, he will be fine it's not like he is going to a run heavy style offense.

Oregon has had about as many 1000+ yard receivers as LSU has in the last 10 seasons, and they've been about as heavy running the ball through much of that time as LSU has.

The difference is a receiver that only gets a few hundred yards at LSU still gets drafted.

Since 2014, LSU has had 13 WR's drafted.

Oregon? 3.

Sure, Burrow and Daniels were a big deal.

Their QB's in that time? Mariota, Herbert, Nix.

That's the number that Eric Nahlin from On3 Texas came up with. Is he accurate?

He picked Oregon that's it LSU will be fine. Plus we have players that projected to commit to LSU today, how about we show them some love or show DT Zion love.

If anyone should be pissed it should be Texas losing a 5 star in-state player that was really projected to them. If Oregon really gave him 1.3 million I'm happy for him.

You are completely missing my point, which was why I replied to your first comment about Oregon not being a heavy rushing team.

Because they are, and they don't develop WR's at all.

It may not be an outlier for Oregon to sign a 5 star player, but it will be an outlier if that player is a wide receiver that ends up drafted at all, much less 1st or 2nd round.

That's the part people don't get.

ETA: Thrilled we got a DT yesterday. It would be awesome to get another one today. This class looks great and it's only halfway done.

Name 1 first round WR they have produced after 1972?
Here is your answer…..ZERO.
1972 was the last WR drafted in the 1st round from Oregon.
LSU by comparison has 10 in that same time span. With 2 drafted in round one in one draft twice.

So that tells me this kid and more importantly his mom just want

Supply and demand determine price.

That price, however, does not have the same value for every purchaser.

LSU does not need to pay high prices for WRs. LSU does not have to shop at the out-of-state luxury market. The local shops provide plenty of high-value WRs at reasonable prices.

Said differently: LSU can find nearly all of the WRs it needs by sticking to the bayous, rivers, and lakes that it's used to. TLC said it well.

QBs, on the other hand, well, that's typically been an entirely different economic proposition . . .

Looks like they need to start spending the $ on DB's or they're going to be hurting again this cycle..

I do find it annoying Oregon is getting more and more into the Texas pipelines, is California not enough for them
we have enough to contend with regarding Texas, Aggie, and OU

It seemed that Louisiana always produced plenty of WRs, DBs, RBs, and DL.

It seemed we were always short on LBs, OL, and, of course, QBs.

Every year is different. Evaluation, board positioning, and price determination are critical. The Director of Personnel is a vital position. LSU has to accurately determine its needs, the relative assets available for purchase, and the proper value/prices of those assets.

LSU has to determine how it spends its limited resources to satisfy its nearly unlimited needs.

Does LSU spend $1.3mm on a WR, $1.0mm on a CB, $300k on a DL, and $400k on a QB?

Or does LSU spend $300k on WR, $400k on a CB, $700k on a DL, and $1.6mm on a QB?

I don't know. I am thinking this is just Moore putting pressure on Texas to get a better offer. This kid seems to really know how to play the game or someone in his camp does and is guiding him. Texas is going to give it a little time. They going to watch him play a few games this season. Make 100% sure he is worth it and then come in late with an offer he can't refuse. I don't think there is anyway they let him leave the state.

I think we're in a pretty good spot overall. Everyone freaking out about DT position and that's been handled this cycle.

We need Corey to close out getting Jaboree back into the class and do whatever they need to do for Pickett. The CB class is what is hurting the most right now to me.

Gotta be fluid with how you drop money. Right now it seems pretty important to fork out more for DB's.

You have to be smart though. Like that spring portal DT getting 1.5 million even though he was the 23rd ranked portal DL last offseason?

You can't do something that stupid. You can't drop a million on a 3 star DB just because he's the only one there.

It's important they pivot right now and get real aggressive on DB recruiting.

Interesting we get Raymond back and nothing to show for it.

It’s already been stated by Bryce that he passed on multiple offers for much more, because he is looking ahead to the NFL and not the instant payday. He wants to be developed and succeed in the league.

Have you ever heard any recruit ever say they are going to a school for an instant payday? Bryce might have passed up $100k to come here, but I'm not going to sit here and think that he's passing up half a million dollars just because he thinks LSU is the only place that can develop a quarterback.

Agreed. I think people assume it’s money but the logical conclusion here is that this is all about relationships that Moore developed with the Oregon staff.

Hate it so much. I hate the idea of having to root for my team to spend as much money as possible to secure recruits. Not sure how it's sustainable.

It cheapens the game so much. At one point, your legacy and NFL potential was how a school got recruits. Now it's all about who has the biggest bank. And what i think is the biggest casualty, is the small schools that have breakout years. Those one-offs will never happen again. It's going to be the exact same teams in the playoffs and NC game every single year. You won't have surprise teams like Boise State in the early 2000's.

And, unlike NFL, nothing is regulated. NCAA is so scared of litigation they won't move, and eventually that program will dissolve (and it should) because it serves no purpose.

Despite what the Moscona's of the world say, NIL has destroyed the game. The transfer portal accelerates it's demise. You either have to regulate the NIL or the portal. You can't let both run unregulated.

Nobody knows what the money really is but just be happy our money is invested in an elite QB

WRs are produced with 3D printers in Louisiana. We need someone capable of getting them the ball
