From a wind speed standpoint, it really couldn't be any weaker and still called a hurricane. It's not like it took some unrecognized giant to wipe out Plaquemines Parish.

Exactly. People look at the "cats" and, like many people on here, don't realize that a lot more comes with a storm than just wind.

Lots of wind and rain in BR and not much else. Power still going strong even.

give it a few hours...if this thing sits and shits on BR for 24+ hours, it could get nasty. IMHO there won't be a football game saturday. i would never put that on the rant because they would crap all over me.

Yeah, a lot of people in BR who were downplaying this are about to get a reality check.

I bet we get slammed, and I'll be watching it from my office window instead of bedroom window. I'm going to be making a big pot of jambalaya tomorrow if any of you Monrovians feel like having a Garden District party.

Yep, Ill be watching from the office as well. Wonder if Enoch's will have a hurricane specail?

Because plenty of people didn't realize how strong this storm actually is

Dude I'd be scared of storm surge if I farted in south Plaquemines parish.....but seriously riding out any named storm there is stupid.

Had a soybean farmer yesterday telling me that this was going to devastate them....and that it has been an excellent and promising year. I don't know much about farming, but felt for the guy. He looked pretty upset about it.

If enough water stands in his beans for a long enough period of time he is fricked.

yeah I started to concede to that once we saw this thing has slowed to nothing. Hopefully they can get it in by Monday. LSU has to know some sort of contingency plan to not have moved it because this is the only weekend they can play it...

Animated Model

So it should be good that in that model the bright red is gone and the dark red is nearly gone, right?

You shouldn't believe anything that comes out of Elleshoe or Rag's mouth concerning hurricanes.

It wasn't you who was saying the worst would be over by 7 AM? I might have you confused with someone else.
