It sure seems risky to have your finances hinging on weather in Louisiana. I do feel for those guys and maybe they will luck up. Should start investing in some pumps for the future.

It wasn't you who was saying the worst would be over by 7 AM? I might have you confused with someone else.
It was. He was relaying what Shingleton was saying to be fair.

I quoted Pat Shingleton. I can't control what a meteorologist says...

rump my husband is a rice/soybean/crawfish farmer ... rice is in the bins and beans are in the field.
We are in southwest Louisiana ... and we're worried about the beans drowning. I feel that man's pain. It truly makes me sad.
eta: all farmers should have crop insurance. That is the only thing that is making me not worry like crazy.

So it should be good that in that model the bright red is gone and the dark red is nearly gone, right?
Very good

weird, i thought for sure you'd be out golfing or fishing today. this thing has been long gone since 7AM huh?
Dude, get the frick off my dick. I posted what Shingleton said. Its not my own prediction. I now have to take the fall for another person's wrong forecast?

LSU316 where are you??? Hubs offered to help some guys here but never got called. we were SO happy for the help when Gustav was coming ...
Posted on 8/29/12 at 11:47 am to LSU316
damage reports I keep seeing in NOLA are about what Gustav was to BR so far. tons of trees down, signage and gas station overhangs down all over. flooding is starting to happen around town, but not widespread yet

as long as it was referenced properly

Yeah, a lot of people in BR who were downplaying this are about to get a reality check.
like what? More windy and rainy? Way to go out on a limb.
Damage might not be terrible for some (although it surely will be for many), but I heard people saying "Oh everyone stop freaking out, school won't even be cancelled. Get on with your lives" on FB and I was just like

You gotta be careful around this group. The sky is literally falling.

Keep me updated Tiger91. My parents live off HWY 82 and grandparents on the Intracoastal near the FI bridge.
