Friends in Braithwaite (St Bernard Parish), their house is under water. Thankfully they evacuated. Pump operators down there are reported to be on their roof tops. Just heard that on radio.

Yeah I'd like to find all the guys making fun of this thing yesterday and have them come clean up the damage in this area.

Was thinking the same thing ghost.........they'll be here later probably drunk. It is barely moving so many will still poke fun.

Now, this time tomorrow.......different story.

On a worst case scenario note, is everyone protected from undesirables? I only have a handgun. I hope the cops who have been patrolling the whole area keep patrolling till everything is back to normal.

It is so sad that on top of being potentially wiped out by mother nature you have to worry about fricking worthless POS humans as well

Exactly. Thank God its only a CAT 1, but the length of time it is hanging around and THE ANGLE IT IS TAKING is worst case scenario for NOLA. The damage throughout SE LA will be much worse than your typical CAT 1.

People were generally making fun of the overreaction to this thing, not the thing itself.

Over reaction? I don't know about an over reaction. The only thing that pissed me off was the Katrina references. This thing was nothing like Katrina except it is a storm in the gulf hitting LA. The media attention was warranted though.

Overreaction? If things are looking much worse than what was thought yesterday is it overreaction?

Yeah, well when it dies down a little bit near midday I should have a shotgun and some more firearms then. I and my family was lucky to not have any craziness during Katrina, but not so much for the neighbors.
