btw, they keep talking about the pumps and rainfall in NOLA... It seems like it rained more during Mardi Gras in NOLA and they just canceled parades and everyone sat inside Fat Harrys or Ms. Mae's

Isaac is moving southeast to east.. it's probably going to loop back around then head back NW.

Isn't most of this just the eyewall reshaping?

NHC has updated moving at 7pm to the WNW. Good for NOLA may be bad for BR or good not sure.

The eye of Isaac looks like a big sloppy vag. It's all kinds of disorganized.

The eyewall is pretty damn defined IMO.

ETA: well it was 25 min ago. new loop looks a little jagged on the west side

CNN Crawler said BR to get direct hit late night, early morning. That doesn't sound right time frame wise at the very least. Not sure about track wise.

The eye looks like it's shrinking but it looks like it's drifting back towards the mouth of the river while doing so.

That's what it looks like, eyewall replacement.

It taking in that dry air from the northwest which is keeping the rain from getting to BR.

Wasn't there a hurricane years ago that crossed the southern tip of Florida into the Gulf, then changed its mind and went back across mid Florida and into the Atlantic?

Since 1991, the only ones I can remember were Tropical Storm Fay (2008) and Tropical Storm Ana (1991)

Fay made 4 landfalls in Florida.

I think pressure went up a smidge to 969. Winds seem the same (80) though. To me it doesn't look as massive as it was but I could be way off on that one.
