I got lucky. I live in the Woodlawn area of Baton Rouge, and I only lost power briefly twice for a total of seven minutes.

Is it sustained winds?
I thought it was gusts.
And the wind should still be trending upward slightly...

Entergy says they did a few repairs during the assessment stage. Crews back in for the night preparing for 2morrow when repairs begin.

Correct. Hospitals, schools, water, city/state buildings, businesses, hotels, and other priority customers will be fastest restored, so if you live near one of these places you will get power first. If you are the only customer off a transformer you will likely be last. If your secondary service line (from transformer to house) is down, you will likely be last. Primary lines are always a priority over secondary. If your meter base and/or weather head are damaged look for an electrician to fix, or you won't be connected. If your house is damaged you won't be connected until it is fixed and/or inspected and safe.
Likely tonight there will only be tree trimming, and scouting done. I can tell you Entergy has requested an additional 10,000 lineman for a total of 14,500 outside assistance. There will probably be well over 20,000 employees and contractors working in Louisiana. They have to inspect trucks, and give safety classes along with entergys work procedures before they begin work. Entergy currently has around 665,000 customers out in Louisiana so it will not be a quick fix.

My mistake, was looking at an old map.
