As far as ovens are concerned, especially wall ovens since a cooktop isn’t included, electric is the preferred type as it gives more consistent heating. For baking and such, you don’t want fluctuations in temperature that are common in gas ovens. Is there a reason you would prefer gas to electric?

Yep. Found that out when I had to replace mine last year. The one it replaced cost me about $500 after Katrina hit and power surges killed it and most of my other appliances.

Damn thing cost me around $1800 to replace, but I did get a better model with more features, but not so much more to warrant that big a cost.

However it's actually cheaper to cook with gas in the long run. It also heats up much faster and also quicker to cool (both good and bad). And one is a drier type heat and the other moister... so go read for yourself and see which is better for what foods you cook.

Hell yes! Get a convection oven that has an air fryer setting. I’m almost cheering for mine to die just to go buy one

If you a restaurant and your oven runs 10+ hrs a day I bet that matters.....for personal use it probably amounts to less than 1 dollar a month.

My new electric wall oven preheats in half the time my old gas oven did....so in my experience this is wrong.

We cook the same stuff in the electric that we did in the gas it still tastes the same and seems to provide the nutrition that we need.

Our old gas oven put off so much heat that it made our kitchen unbearably hot at times....the electric does not....this is probably not a benefit of electric over gas but the unit itself. The switch has been golden for me.

Just bought one for my last flip from Home Depot for $469 this week. Whirlpool. Nice grids.
