If there is an easier and better way than this, I’d like to hear it as well. Ditto goes for backpack sprayers.

I put my MSM in a gallon jug and mixed it and then put in my backpack sprayer and toped it off with water.

5 day avg is 71 for me. I’m gonna put some down this week before a rain.

Lowe’s had “crab-ex” (dithiopyr) in 10 lb bags for $14. I bought two. I have 7500 sq ft. Can I just put all 20 lbs out or is that too much?

I put the granules in the strainer of the backpack sprayer and fill from faucet from there. No clue if it totally mixes.

The application rate (lbs to apply per 1000 sq ft) will be provided on the bag’s label. Follow those instructions.

Not a dumb question at all - I spent time yesterday internet searching a a self agitating back sprayer. Didn’t find one.

Water Dispersible Granules (WDG) as Prodiamine is don’t dissolve into the water - they are suspended - so ideally some agitation is required to keep them in suspension while spraying or they will settle out so you won’t get even distribution of the herbicide over the lawn without some agitation. Now at the end of the day if that makes a big difference I don’t know, but the label does state to agitate the herbicide solution while spraying for this reason.

When using the backpack sprayer I just jump up and down and shake from side to side while spraying every now and then. My wife and I’m sure my neighbors think I’m nuts - they ain’t half wrong.

I was planning on putting my dimension out this weekend but now I’ve got a mole and armadillo problem. I’m gonna put out some of the 24 hour grub killer to try and get rid of their food source.

How long should I wait for pre emergent or can I do it all at once?

All at once. Insecticide won't interfere with a herbicide. They will both need to be watered in so do it before the rain.

Thanks man, I was able to get it all down this afternoon and then an hour later we had a decent shower. Nice when it works out like that lol.

Put down some pendamethalin a week ago after 5 straight days of 70 soil in Nashville and already getting a lot of crap popping up, looks like mostly clover and some odd onion/goose grass.

Just ordered some Barricade that should get here tomorrow. 5 day average is still at 68 here.

Smart to throw down the barricade prodiamine as well or should I Just wait until spring?

Doesn’t mean your pendamethalin isn’t working - sounds like you put it out a little to late. Needs to be applied before soil temps hit 70 not when they hit 70 F. But you still have many winter weeds seeds yet to germinate - not sure adding prodamine now will be of any benefit since you already put down pre-emergent, I’d be inclined to wait to spring. Better to err in applying too early than applying to late with pre-emergents. I know first hand the effects of applying to late.

Clover is a perennial so pre-emergent has little effect on it. Pretty late in the year for goosegrass to be germinating.

Will wait it out, they're not that bad at this point but this is my first experience with pre-emergent.

Thanks Craw.

I bought a Field King professional backpack sprayer that has paddles and does a great job agitating the liquids. Very comfortable, straps are padded. I love this sprayer

I did see that Field King agitating unit when searching and bookmarked it on Amazon - 4.5/5 star rating with over 2000 reviews. Glad to hear you are happy with it. I was hoping to find a backpack sprayer that was both self agitating and battery operated if I decided to upgrade.
