For PRODIAMINE application, it states 0.4 ozs per 1,000 sq/ft.

My yard is roughly 3,000 sq/ft in front and 3,000 sq/ft in back.

so that is 6 - 0.4 ozs of prodiamine added to how much water?

All depends on your sprayer flow rate and walking speed. At normal walking speed with my fan tip, I put out about 1 gal per 1000sf. Do a test run with just water in a section of yard or concrete with your sprayer

I'm on year 2 of pre emerg and my front lawn looks the best on my street. MY question is can i also spread this in my flower beds? It's mostly bushes and monkey grass on the edges but I also have areas behind them that gets pretty nasty with weeds.

Crawdude, is there a reason you are doing prodiamine first and simazine second? I like the idea of using both and the reason I ask is that I already received my simazine and have to order the prodiamine.

I believe simazine has some slight post emergent characteristics. So if you’re a little late, it will still stunt/kill crabgrass

I may have this mixed up with something else, I don’t use it

Yes you can use it in the beds. Just always read the label as well.

I have MSM and Atrazine? Should I mix these two and apply this week as a pre emerge? I have been spot treating with MSM for about 6 weeks and it has done a good job with the weeds (VBW, Spurge, etc) but I am looking to kill large amounts of dove weed. What would the application rate be for say 700sqft. In Lafayette area FWIW.

What pre-emergent do you use on the lawn?

Well I ordered the Prodiamine 65 WDG and used it for the first time last week so I have plenty to use. Though I’ve had good success with fall (Sep/Oct) pre-emergent applications I’m having a few more winter eeeds show up, more than I like, burweed comes to mind, and I already have the Simazine so I’d thought I’d apply it with a later application b/c it has good efficacy against many winter weeds.

Not to speak for ronk but as I recall he uses in fall/winter 3 staggered applications of Simazine has pre-emergent in his Bermudagrass lawn, and Prodiamine in spring so since you have the Simazine already perhaps is approach will be effective for you as well. Let him way in on this.

As jimbeam stated, Simazine has not only good pre-emergent activity but also some good post-emergent activity on certain weeds. Prodiamine has only pre-emergent activity.

I wouldn’t use that combo as a pre-emergent but the atrazine should be effective post-emergent on the Doveweed. The LSU AgCenter says they haven’t had good control of Doveweed with Weed Free Zone in field trials. Atrazine though having some pre-emergent activity has better post-emergent activity.

I’d suggest you consider using Prodiamine or Dimension as a fall pre-emergent. Prodiamine will be a bit cheaper.

I’m pretty sure I left my edgeguard on when I applied my preemergent. I used the hi yield w/ dimension at 4lb/1000ft. Can I reapply with out hurting anything? I think The label says I can go up to 9lbs/1000 but want to double check with people more knowledgeable than me.

Also got the prodamine in that I ordered so I could use that as well so I don’t have to get more hi yield.

Thanks

If the 5-day soil temp average needs to be 70 degrees for the fall app of pre, does the same go for the spring app or is it a different temp average?

What is best pre-emergent for Fescue and Bermuda? Got a mix.

I have about 3 different weed issues too, so it's gotta be wide spectrum.

ETA:

And preferably granular

Where did you get it?

And a general question-what can I get from a home store, Tractor Supply or Ace that I can put down now on St. Aug lawns?

Just ask for pre emergent and they’ll know what you need. I bought a 35lb bag at the local nursery for $40 and I only used half or less

Yes you can use Dimension in your landscape beds - I do. Won’t do anything for nutsedge, oxalis, and only does a so so job on chamberbitter, does does a good job on just about everything else.

If you plan on doing anything in the landscape beds like adding or refreshing mulch, do that first, then add the Dimension and water it in. Ideally, you want minimal disruption to pre-emergent herbicide barrier after you apply it.
