They are all bad. But avoid LG like the God damn plague. This includes Kenmore that have a model number starting with "795".
The linear compressor program is a FAILURE the fail rate is over 60% on these units. They warranty it but you'll go months without a fridge waiting for the parts.
I don't like GE since Haier bought the appliance division. But they aren't horrible. The use of computer fans to move air is odd. Most aren't using 115v fans anymore though.
Whirlpool and it's subbrands will be the best American companies. (Kitchen aid the best of those? As far as luxury)
Sub zero will always be the best. But it's $$$$$
Electrolux is another brand that took a quality nose dive in the last decade.

I can't speak for the quality today, but I bought mine over 20 years ago and it's still going strong. Not a single repair or problem - knock on wood

I think Samsung are great other than the icemakers. Once you deal it with silicone that usually fixes the icing up issue. They just weren't sealed good for a few years. Though others needed a control board and icemaker upgrade to fix issues. So many people felt burnt by Samsung over the icemaker that's why they get a bad rap.

He likely isn't lying.
Electrolux parts have been the hardest to get by far.
I've had customers who had long waits. To the point with Elux I'll usually offer used parts on Ebay because of how long it takes.
Like a common frigidaire failure. The dishwater button membranes go bad. When they used physical wired buttons it was a common $60 part. Now it's an integrated touch panel. About $200 and that's if you can find one.
I've had two I had to give up on after months of not being able to get it.
I've had to condemn Frigidaire appliances for minor parts that couldn't be sourced.

Looks like that’s who manufactured my 2013 Frigidaire branded fridge. It’s a simple freezer over/under model with no ice maker.

We are on our third refrigerator in 47 years of marriage. The first 1 was a Frigidaire and yes it was green. We had it for 26 years. We then bought a GE. Two years ago we bought a Bosch. We moved the 20 year old GE into the garage and it is still working fine.
The Bosch is the best design and the quietest of them all. It is the French door, middle drawer and bottom freezer. Excellent design.

If it's model number is 3 digits. Especially a 50p or 600 series keep it forever. They use cheap arse parts and last forever. Mine stays cold for so long without power.

Yeah after 47 years I don’t blame you one bit for moving a 20yo into your garage

Hypothetically, let's say I just dropped 11 grand for a full LG kitchen and washer and dryer...

We got a Samsung about 10 years ago. It immediately had a problem, covered by warranty. It hasn't had a problem since then, but the repairman told us not to expect much more than 10 years out of it or any modern fridge.
We have a Kenwood at our other place of indeterminant age. Not sure if my parents bought it or it came from my grandparent. It's between 25-40 years old and is working fine.

don't know if it's still the case but refrigerators, like dishwashers, washers/dryers, and water heaters used to all be made by just a handful of manufacturers, regardless of what name is on the outside of it, we've got a 16 year old kitchenaid that looks brand new and has never hiccupped, the only thing I've done is change the water filter, and I haven't done that near as often as recommended, come to think of it, I don't ever recall having to have a refrigerator serviced, we've got one out on the boat slip that has been outside for years that runs like a champ

All the new refrigerators are junk. I bought a really nice whirlpool with the freezer on bottom in 2016. 2 years later it quit working. It was still under warranty so they sent an appliance repair guy out. He threw several parts at it and it still never worked. Getting them to replace it under warranty was one of the most difficult things I have ever experienced in my life. This is no exaggeration. Took me about 3 months and a letter from my lawyer to get it done.

My house was built in 1975. We still have the original oven in it and it still works like a tank. It's burns out an element every 4-5 years but other than being ugly I'm hesitant to replace it

our house was bult in 2000 and it has the original double oven it and they work great, the closure on the bottom door went out and I was trying to google how to replace it and some dude recommended putting a couple of ceramic magnets on the door, worked great, you can't tell the difference in how either door opens or closes

We replaced our washer, dryer, fridge and dishwasher when we moved here in 2013. All have been broken but the dryer and it's about to die
Posted on 6/4/22 at 2:50 pm to fallguy_1978
our 2000 dishwasher is still kicking, bought the washer/ dryer in 2006 and dryer is fine but had to replace the washer a couple of years ago, those suckers went up in price

As the ones with lower global warming potential suck.
Pretty much my experience. Came out 3 different times got it working for 1 week then never worked again.

Yeah in my head a washer and dryer should be $300 each or something like that. I bought a Speed Queen last time but I knew that would be expensive. I'll probably buy the matching dryer soon. They are better than the big box store brands at least

I’ve never Chad a shitty Kenmore. They lasts a long time. I just picked up a Whirlpool and put the Kenmore in the basement. Hell Kenmore is made by Whirlpool.
