I just switched to Farm Bureau, went from $6400 to $4k

Get a broker to shop it, but I'd avoid State Farm and All-State based on all of the horror stories.
$3500 is actually not terrible. Mine went up to $6200 last year, but back down to $3300 with FB after putting on a new fortified roof.
You're likely limited on who will write policies.

If you bundle your insurances, the Big 3 can be more competitive than you think....State Farm, Allstate, Liberty. If you cherry-pick, not so much.

dont be surprised when that is as good as it gets

Yea 3500 is not bad. DO you bundle with them? It'll most likely drop your price if you don't bundle.
I say it on here all the time and I sound like a broken record but it's because I work on homeowners claims everyday, but whatever you do, under no circumstances go with State Farm or Allstate.

My Sister-In-Law took tornado damage. It's not even remotely up for question. The two closest houses were likely totaled and her house took a ton of damage. 2x4s shot through her roof and AC... water leaks all over. Windows damaged. NWS confirmed path EF-2 etc etc.
State Farm is allowing the claim but totally low-balling everything. She's having to get an independent adjuster and likely lawyer involved to get made whole. This is going to drag out for months and months.
You may not be able to afford the most expensive insurance, but you certainly can't afford the cheapest.
Also worth noting, my neighbor has/had State Farm and had his roof peeled off during IDA. Zero coverage. After fighting for nearly a year, he came out of pocket $30k for a roof.

I had a 72% increase in my premiums. Broker told me that's as good as it's going to be this year for an A-rated. Deductibles stayed the same 2500/5000, so I have that going for me.
I'd suggest staying put, because anything else you find would be marginally better at best. Everyone's premiums are jumping up this year.

what’s the coverage value and deductible at 3500 premium? Mine is 350K plus miscellaneous with 7500 wind deductible for 3500 and I’m happy with that

stay put then
I went from State Farm to Safeco after ida for 500 less in premium with a much lower deductible (SF was 12% LOL)

i would take $3500 and run right now. Mine went up from $5200 to now $10000 which is due July 19. I am currently shopping around. Insurance companies are a crime.

USAA is high, but those SOBs pay out well.

People are selling their homes bc of insurance and you are complaining about that rate? Good luck and report back when you find better. There’s an article today on this and so many are having to sell. Insurers are crooks and need to be knocked down a notch or 2.

As my wife says, we are paying Concierge Pricing for Farm Bureau, but the same. They've been extremely easy to work with on roofing and a few fender benders over the 20+ years I've been with them.
It really boils down to what you want. Do you want to check the box that says you are insured, or do you want insurance that will pay for stuff as promised? Those are both OK choices as long as you know which choice you are making.

Google Weinsure and see if there is an office near you. They can shop it out for you to companies that don't make you pay for their expensive advertising budgets.

Can’t wait to pay off my house soon and be rid of wind and hail insurance
