All being said. If you don’t have a hive in your backyard, there is gonna be one somewhere close anyhow.
I know we've got plenty of beehives around our house because we have a good amount of undeveloped land and around us and a golf course. I was really curious about the backyard setup. Do you put them in a tree or something else natural, or do you have to build a structure? I guess it depends on your backyard setup. I do have a friend of a friend who is known as the "Germantown bee guy", I guess I need to pick his brain

I built a little semi-enclosed area for mine and planted around them.
I have sunflowers on one side, strawberries on the other, and blackberries in the front.

Damn you guys down there are so far ahead of me. My maters are just now starting to take off and flower. Same with the squash and zukes.
Peppers and Eggplant are both still tiny, but we haven't really had the heat to get them going yet here.
Then again you are a full hardiness zone away from me. 8a here, and you guys are 9a right?

Yep, I’m in 9a. What’s going to be interesting is when the heat starts getting to some of my plants, I’ll be jealously looking at your stuff.

I went 2 weeks without pruning my tomatoes and holy crap did they grow since then. Took me an hour to prune 12 plants. Btw, anyone ever grow Opalka Tomatoes? it's the only variety not doing well.

What’s wrong with them?

no flowers and looks lifeless. It's right next to my other paste tomatoes (Romas and San Marzano) which are thriving.

Those things are like crack. Half the ones I pick don’t make it to house.
Benjamin and squirrelanator not doing enough work. Putting netting around my tomatoes today.

My parent’s tomato plant got something, I’m assuming the plant had it already when bought from nursery (Costco).
What is it? I told them to spray daily with hydrogen peroxide.

one looks like Blossom Rot but not sure about the plant. I'd yank it out.

I don’t think it’s end rot, since the leaves and stems are showing problems. Yea it looks pretty done, but told dad to try peroxide first maybe.

That looks like late blight. Burn the plants.

I’ve been rotating Mancozeb, Daconil and copper fungicide every 7 days since the week long rain storm here in BR. Raised bed plants doing fine, my onions and a few tomato varieties in ground went to shite pretty quick. Still getting some yellowing of some leaves on certain plants.

I hope all this rain doesn’t mess with my tomatoes.

Picked my first batch of beans and blackberries yesterday, and most of the potatoes. Pretty sure my red, purple, and marconi peppers are goners. They took a big hit after all that rain a few weeks ago and looked terrible. Just started to recover and here we are with another solid week of rain. I still have one yellow and red bell plant doing alright. Cajun belles and keystone giants are doing great. I guess planting some cushion worked out
Pole beans are just starting to flower. Squash is blowing up, zucchini turned out to be yellow, sweet potatoes are getting vigorous, have a few eggplants setting, and carrots and corn are growing. Creole tomatoes are doing awesome. Big beefs are doing well, and San Marzano's are just starting to fruit. I'll try to get some pictures over the weekend after all this rain moves out.

Do you use bird netting on your blackberries? I had my first ones ripening this week but think birds are pecking at them.

I just pulled two Fred’s tie dye tomatoes. They were slowly turning red but I didn’t want them to crack with all the rain. We’ve been getting hammered by rain on the north shore for what feels like two weeks.
