That feeling when you wake up and see the deer had somehow gotten into your garden

RIP to 2 cucumbers and 4 tomato plants (out of 25 total tomato plants). It could have been a lot worse.

I guess I'll just go ahead and build the moat. The deer are so damn bad where I am.

These are three products that farmers use on their young crops like cotton, soybeans, etc to help prevent damage by browsing deer. Hinder is probably the easiest to mix. The Plantskydd is a dried cow blood in powder form. It can be difficult to mix and spray with out the right equipment.

Get some different highly perfumed soaps like Dial. Hang them out there and rotate brands once a week. It’s the best you can hope for...you could also hang a sweaty tshirt out there...

Put a deer stand near the garden.

Since the barbers and hair stylists are out of business atm you cannot go ask for their sweepings to spread around the perimeter. (in the future you can even till hair clippings into the soil of the garden itself for thorough scent infiltration, get the sweepings from several barbers/beauty salons)

Gonna have to resort to peeing in a jug and then pouring that around the garden.

Human scent is great for scaring away deer and other mammals.

this works. The best garden in my neighborhood is in a back corner lot near a golf course and some woods where we always see deer. I eventually stopped to ask the guy how he keeps everything he plants from being eaten and this was his answer too.

Uhhh...I have peed on scrapes and the next day watched does and bucks smell it, scrape it, hit the licking branch. Pee will do nothing...

First thing my dad did when my Papa died was tore down 6' fence around perimeter of garden in their front yard. First planting he came back from store with 3 mowing his newly sprouting pees. We put fence back up...
