I'm wanting to replace my water heater at my camp with a tankless. It's just a shower and two faucets. What size do I need to buy to replace the 30 gal tank water heater. Any help would be appreciated.

Hope you enjoy cold showers when the power is out.

I didn't even realize there was a Home and Garden board.

If you're in a part of the country where you're using a tankless as opposed to a boiler, the chance you're going to not have hot water for an extended period of time when it matters is pretty slim.

Or he could just plug it into a generator, it’s what I do......because the power is already out.

I'm not sure what this means, but having one is certainly frustrating during power outages or low water pressure situations.

As opposed to having hot water with an electric tank water heater?

4gpm. 240v wired to main breaker panel. Only issue is the mixing valves in the existing shower and faucets suck in mine which you have to find that sweet spot for the little ones. Other than that, love it.
Never run out of hot water when u have a group is a plus and I don’t have to turn the breaker off when I leave, just shut water off to camp.

I Mounted it on a piece of plywood and secured it to the wall in the existing cavity where the hwh was. I was able to add a set of drawers in front of it.

Installation is a tankless job.

Just go to their website, they have a chart specifically for this. The size you need varies based on temperature of area of the country you live in as well as the number of water outlets you will be supplying at once.

I have two Noritz in my home. 12 years old now and neither one has ever been serviced.

I’ve managed to go 34 years without having to take a shower when the power is out.

Used to run out of hot water once a month or so before the ole tankless hot water heater came along.

You might be underestimating how big of a generator you need to run a tank less water heater.

Each manufacturer posts a chart showing how many faucets/showers/tubs their models handle. You will need the smallest model they sell because you will have one hot water faucet running at a time. If you wash dishes and shower at the same time, though, your water will be luke warm.

So, the gas tankless water heaters stop working if it loses the 120v power to the brain? That's kind of a bummer although not really a deal breaker.
