shower tile replacement options (no grout)

I know this has been discussed before but I had a hard time finding the threads. I'm looking for recommendations on options to replace the tile in my master shower. I want to go grout free. It is a custom walk-in shower, not super huge. I'd guess it is about 5'x4' in area.
Thanks everyone!

No, the walls and I guess the floor too. I think there are products that are like synthetic stone but not sure. Stuff that might look like granite, marble or anything not tile. Something that would be monolithic for each wall and custom cut/installed. I think there might be something called stone resin? Not sure.

It's called cultured marble, and it's what I opted to put in my walk-in shower. I would definitely get a quote for both cultured marble (the resin) and an actual slab of something, because I remember them actually being pretty close and having the slightest regret of not going actual rock. But no complaints.
I will never own another tiled shower because I'm too lazy to properly maintain the grout lines.

So do you just go to a countertop/tile store for something like that or do you have go through like a general contractor?

Have someone cover your tile with microcement. That stuff looks cool!
Let us know how it turns out!

Look for nearby places that offer "cultured marble" they could very well originally be a natural stone countertop store.
I got mine done by a business in Lafayette called Lafayette Marble & Granite that started out specializing in natural stone but also offer cultured marble now.
I called LMG, told them my dimensions and they gave me a rough quote. Then sent a guy over to take exact measurements, and they did the install themselves.
So, once you find a place, just ask if they do the installs themselves.

thanks. I'll start with the local granite shops and see how it goes.

I have porcelain tiles with epoxy grout. I dont have a problem with mold or mildew.
I remember the installer having to do it in small batches, something about it drying fast and you have to work quickly or it will be a mess.

Someone wants microcement but doesn't want to be the guinea pig

You can get walls and floor pan out of cultured marble. It's been years since I've done that type of work but the wall forms are set to your specifications and same with the pan. Colors are were pretty wide open back then.
But if I was to do my tile shower again, then I would do larger wall tile. I wouldn't go with marble sheets/slabs unless your shower was small enough that you could avoid seems. You definitely can't do solid marble on the floor.... unless the floor is sloped in the direction of your drain as opposed to a center drain.

Cultured marble is fine but its not very nice. No high end homes have it unless there's something I don't know of. You'd honestly think someone could come up with a better modern solution.
I added some grout sealer into my kids bathroom shower grout when I re did it 5 years ago and its white subway tile with white grout, it no shite still looks perfect and I don't touch it and its multiple girls that don't give a shite. I dont' think cleaning grout is all that hard with some bleach personally.

There's also solid surface material like Corian, usually used as counter tops but can be used in other settings.

I reseal the grout every 8months or so because it discolors and erodes. We try to avoid harsh chemicals so the sealant lasts but it just doesn't.

Thank you. That is on the list too to track down and get pricing.

dekton is a porcelain product that is made into slabs. I’m using it for my countertops but it is also suitable for vertical install

What brand/type of grout? That is very rare, even unheard of in a proper installation.
