Is there a mower out there that doesn't have a way to adjust the height of the cut?

I have a riding mower. But the last push mower I had couldn't be adjusted. But then that was a long time ago.

I cut at 3.25 (mix of St Aug, Centipede, and Zoysia). I also have uneven spots in my yard so the elevated HOC helps keep things looking level.

Why mow when it’s pretty much dead? First time in 10 years all the yards around here are turning yellow or just plain dead by now. It’s grass, something will grow back, eventually.

3.5” here, same. Still need to water when the blades start to wilt/stiffen but neighbors on both sides (who both have lawn crews that mow at 1.5-2” and scalp to shite every pass) have dead patches everywhere.

Same here on my St Aug. Usually run @ 3", but just skipped a week and bumped to 3.5" today. Grass looks great. Neighbors scalp and theirs look like shite.

Heck I'm considering throwing down another bag of fertilizer this week just to really make them look bad. Too scared to burn it, so I may just thrown down ironite.

You won’t burn it. There’s no temperature restriction for granular fertilizer. Just make sure you apply the proper amount.

As for ironite. It should be illegal for that shite to be sold. Granular iron in the form of ferric oxide is not plant available. You are literally spreading rust and it doesn’t do jack shite. Any response comes from the little bit of urea and sulfur in the product.

Mowing low only discourages weeds in bermuda

I don't know much about lawns but am making an effort to learn. Can you explain this? I have Bermuda but thought that going a bit higher would crowd out the weeds. I'm trying to wrap my head around how going low would accomplish that.

Frequent low mowing of Bermuda encourages lateral growth. That leads to a thicker lawn. Tall Bermuda can get stringy

I haven't mowed in 3 weeks and will not until I get the next decent rain. My yard is about a acre and half so I am not watering it but so far it is holding well considering the heat and lack of rain.

I’ve been using this stuff called NutriSolve - Liquid Soil Micronutrient (with 2% Iron) and lightly spreading this granular fertilizer called Humic Max 16-0-8 - Lebanon Country Club Fertilizer. One of the groundskeepers at the local golf course turned me on to this stuff. I spray 6 oz of the liquid per gallon every 2 weeks and fertilize with the granule every 30 days. Order some of that off the internet and you will most certainly embarrass your neighbors. That liquid with the micronutrients and iron alone will turn your grass green as hell.

I’m using it on Tifway 419 Bermuda, Centipede, Palisades Zoysia, and some other Zoysia I seeded a few years ago. It works great on all of them. I’m using my 4 gallon backpack sprayer to dispense the NutriSolve - Liquid Soil Micronutrient (with 2% Iron). I can’t speak highly enough about this product. Despite the heat my yard is staying very green. The rest of my neighborhoods grass is wilting bad. I’m not cutting it too terribly tall at 2”. A lot of the same ingredients are In Miracle Grow except it’s much stronger yet won’t burn your yard. Anything I’ve purchased from that Golf Course Lawn Store has been so much better than the big box stores.
