I need to run a water line under my concrete driveway. It is about a 50 ft run. Is there a company out there that can do this or should I just rent a concrete saw and cut a trench out of the concrete and dig?

60' of 3/4" pvc pipe, hook up a water hose and start water blasting/drilling. Have a bucket of water to keep the outside of the pipe wet all the time. Start with a 20' joint, once that is in, glue your next joint. Just work it back and fore.

I did see someone on YouTube doing that exact same thing. That may be the route I take but not sure if I could get it that far? Thanks

They make a plastic or PVC nozzle for attaching to the pvc pipe that is disposable. I think if you can start with a shallow angle you can make it 50 foot

Yep! Isn’t everyone’s? Nah it is in front of my metal building with a 10x30 concrete slab on the side of it.

Dont water jet it. You will lose any kind of backfill and have a weakly supported slab/driveway. Saw cut it and do it right.

That’s what I thinking first. I can make 1 cut 55’ long and it would be right in line with my expansion joints. Did it once already but only about 15’ foot and it seemed like it took me half a day.

can you not just relocate the spot you cross under the driveway? or go around back of house with a water line.

i find it hard to believe there isnt a spot to just cross the driveway, then run the line through the yard to get to the other side of the metal building or just run a line around the back of the house to eliminate all of that.

20ft length of 3/4" pvc pipe is cheap so i would choose a little extra digging through the yard over trying to tunnel under driveway and metal building slab combined

50’ is a long way to wash pipe and it’s not going to be in a straight line. I’d hire a person to bore the line. You could compare it beraea sawcut and replacement at least.

I think that is what I’m going to do. The issue with that was I was going to have to dig a little on my neighbors property. I ended up talking to him today and he didn’t have an issue with going on his property so now I’m just gonna run it around my house and tie it in. Problem solved. Thanks all!

you can rent a trencher thats like a big chain saw to dig a 6" wide trench up to 3ft deep i think. then backfill and water it and your done.

for the $100 or whatever the rental is, it turns the job into something simple you do in one half day, rather then a hell of a lot of digging by hand. if you are not a young buck, this is well worth the money

An exciting one would probably be better.

Sorry.
