Replacing a toilet.

How much should I expect to pay a plumber to take the old one out and replace it? I know I could probably do it, but I really don't want to. Thanks.

More than it's worth. Quick, easy job.

So, you're willing to pay someone around $200 or more to pull an old toilet and put in a new one?????
Replacing a toilet is a real simple DIY job. Yeah, it can get a little messy with removing all the water from the old bowl and dealing with the old wax ring, but it won't kill you.
Guess some folks have more money than-------------------well, you know where that was heading.......

Probably 150 to 200. You could always try to find someone even cheaper by making a Nextdoor app post looking for a handy man to do it.

I just paid $1025 cash for 6 toilets to be replaced at my house in Houston. I bought the toilets and placed them by the bathrooms.
I can change a toilet but didn’t want to have them sitting by the curb for 6 days and they hauled them off.

$200 is a lot cheaper than blowing out a disc in his lower back from lifting the toilet into place.

I was going to say you're full of shite, but with 6 toilets to choose from, I seriously doubt that.

Quick, easy job.
Sometimes. Sometimes a pita. Broken/corroded flange, wildly uneven flooring, crusty supply issues can all make it go from a bolt up job to a half-day pita job.

You and YouTube can do it in less than an hour. Plumbers won’t show up for $200.

I am very much not handy and this is an easy job. I recommend replacing the wax ring while you're in there just to do it. I always go with the thickest I can find

That’s why I replaced them. 4 or 5 of the 7 toilets were leaking really bad and it backed up my septic. Plus they were old as shite and some were round bowl and lower. Ended up going with smooth sided, chair height with elongated bowls and soft close lids.
Plumber said those smooth side toilets took an hr per toilet to set and it normally takes him about 10 minutes.
I called a buddy who’s a plumber and he said he charges $300 a toilet but $800 for the smooth sided toilets in Charlotte.

What you running, a boarding house or whore house???? That's a lot of bathrooms for a residence unless it's multiple households in one building.
Fourplex maybe????

It’s my house.
4 full baths and 3 half baths. One of them is outside for the outdoor kitchen/pool area.

Yeah, depending on the age/condition of the existing closet flange and the water supply valve this can be a 30 minute job or an all day affair. Cast iron or solid PVC flanges are generally ok but those shitty steel rimmed PVC flanges are hateful things. I have a special reaming tool that can cut out a PVC flange in a few minutes, worth the $70 just in case.

I watched my plumber do a lead and oakum flange replacement last week. I had not seen anyone melt lead in decades. Old school for sure!

Ain’t nobody putting those toilets in a fourplex. Way too expensive for that.
