recommended stud finder?

i want to buy once/cry once. renovation underway and its imperative that i find center of stud to install some heavy wood beams and some floating shelf brackets. any recommendations?

Magnet relies on the guys that threw up the drywall actually taking their time to find the center of the stud and not just throwing them up there. I wouldn't rely on it for something important/heavy.

I gave up on the electronic and use the heavy duty magnets

I just got this because I had a few bad experiences with others and didn’t want to break the bank. $10
But, I would like the same style with a laser on it…like this
