Bump. Looks like mine.

This thread make me feel better, my St Aug has spots like this.
I think mine got brown last year late in the season when it was really dry. Hasn’t came back yet but looks like it’s starting to fill in some

Did you put down the peat moss?

Not to hijack, but how do throw peat moss?
I deal w/fungus every year St. Aug.
All of the Northshore area big box stores don’t have the roller/spreader thing to rent. Is it throw and hand rake spread?
ETA. Every time I try and throw pear moss, the next heavy downpour washes it out.

No. I thought it was greening up so I haven’t done anything.

I would do peat moss. I would wait to fertilize.

Push broom. Works it in real well.

My front yard looked just like your pictures. I have mowed the lawn 2 or 3 times now. We have gotten 4+ inches of rain in the last 2 days.
Today the lawn is starting to fill in some and is a little greener. I may put out some fertilizer next week.

Ferti-Lome makes a centipede fertilizer which is a 15-0-15 analysis. Check their website to find a retailer near you. I don’t know if Lowes or Home Depot has a specific centipede fertilizer. If you can’t find one, look for one with a low first number, and an even lower second (or middle) number because centipede likes phosphorus even less than nitrogen.
Get a soil test done to see if if anything needs adjusting.

So I was thinking of fertilizing today ahead of the rain tomorrow.
should I use just the fertilome 15-0-15 centipede fertilzer
or the fertilome weed and feed centipede 15-0-15 based on above pics...
or wait longer?

Certainly a good time to fertilize your centipede, and apply 3 1/3 pounds of the 15-x-x per 1000 sq ft = 1/2 lb N per 1000 sq ft. The directions on the bag may have a different (higher) application rate, if so I would not follow them.
I always advocate keeping fertilization and weed control as separate activities, so I would go with the straight lawn fertilizer and not the Weed & Feed with this caveat.
As I recall, Fertilome is manufacturing some Weed and Feed products that have pre-emergent herbicide such as Dimension incorporated as opposed to a post-emergent herbicide like Atrazine or Trimec. I would not opposed to use of a W&F with pre-emergent herbicide unless you already applied some pre-emergent earlier in the year, though it still would likely be better to do that as a separate activity.
By chance do you have a link to the Fertilome 15-0-15 W&F so I can look at the label to see what herbicide is in that product?

What kind of Fertilizer should we put on St Augustine?
My brown patches are slowly starting to fill in but still looks bad.

You'd be much better suited with a 2 gallon hand can or 4 gallon backpack and a bottle of msm and celsius.

I have this. I'm not familiar with msm/celsius application
Posted on 4/26/23 at 2:44 pm to LSUTIGERTAILG8ER
msm is a cheap herbicide that has a wide range of weeds it controls. Celsius is more expensive but works on both grassy and broadleaf weeds.

does it matter what order?
fertilizer then spot spray msm?
or vice versa.
before rain/after?
