I know I can go the cheaper route and get some cheap ones that I can replace every 5 or so years

I was just curious what others were doing. They have shades with remote control now and I was intrigued

Thoughts?

Good ones are pretty expensive. I paid 12k for 3 shades at my place in Baton Rouge but they were awesome.

Had the power ran during construction and the blinds installed about a year after moving in.

depends on your budget. A sunbrella tarp and some coated SS wire is cheap and effective

Glare on outside TV or living room?

If outside, pivot mount may help.

I bought some cheap ones on blinds.com and we've had them for 10 years. When the adhesive keeping the material to the aluminum rods wore out I bought some self-taping sheet metal screws and kept it together. I use some bleach every now and then to keep them nice and clean, but it's been a winner. You can select the level of opacity you want with sun blinds.

I have had 3 of these coolaroos (purchased from Lowes) on my patio for over 10 years. They will probably outlive the patio cover.

I have 5 of these on my back porch and pool house. Can't beat their easy mounting, ease of use, and overall longevity. The only negative is they will blow in the wind. Of course you can control this a little by not letting it down all the way, but if you want it all the way down on a breezy day, you better have a way to hold it down.

I think that’s what I need

How’s the light coming through the cracks? My two openings (on the outside of the TV) are 85.00 and 87.50.

Lowe’s has 72, 96, and 120 as the width options

My patio cover is a hair over 31', I have 3 of the 10' widths set up, evenly spaced, so I do have a couple of gaps, which aren't an issue for me. As gc said, they do act as sails, but newer ones have anchors. I will raise them when a storm pops up, because they will swing themselves up onto the roof of patio cover.

I have 3 sets as well. They are great. As stated i too have to raise them when a bad storm rolls through even though i do use the bungee anchors provided.
