New Year. New House. New Kitchen

I will be going into 2020 with a new house needing some renovations. First starting with the kitchen. I have no clue what Im doing but will probably get with a few contractors on how to proceed and get some quotes. Kitchen budget is around 25k.. not sure if this is high or low but its my starting point. will probably replace the kitchen floors with luxury vinyl plank
anyway here is current kitchen and a render i made on lowes virtual room designer of what i would like. feel free to critique and give advice.
and the render. would like to extend the island counter to allow for bar stools as well
revised render with rectangular island
[/img]
looking forward to using this board to discuss as i will move on to master bath next along with some old school pink and blue tile bathrooms
updated
so here is my cabinet package provided by cliqu studios.
they missed the pantry in this view but i had them update it

Ditch the microwave hood. Put in a real hood that vents to the outdoors.

wheres the microwave go? counter top? not a fan of the microwave drawer

Put it in the new island. Make a shelf and have it inset.

im 6'4 i dont want to bend over to use a microwave nor do i want my 2 and 4 year olds to have easy access. also dont want it to take up counter space
in ten years at my current house ive probably turned my range hood on a total of 20 times. mostly when searing steaks.
am i missing something with the necessity of a range hood?

The range hood can be placed higher. There are code requirements for the height of microwave. Since it has to be lower it restricts cooking on back burners. I hate ours. You could also custom mod a wall cabinet and create a shelf it can sit on. Not having an over stove microwave means you can get something more compact it since won't have a vent fan.
Looking at drawing, I would make an open shelf next to refrigerator and put it there.

I'm tall and the first thing I did was remove the above the stove microwave. It makes cooking on the stove a pain for me and I use the stove 10x more than the microwave.

For some reason, none of the pics show up for me. I don't know how many drawers are in your design (vs lower cabinets) but my advice is to have as many drawers as your budget will allow. I love all of my cabinet drawers. My dishes, pots and pans, etc. are all in drawers and it's one of my favorite things about my kitchen. Improves function tremendously.

Exactly...if you don’t want it low in the island, make a spot for it in the upper cabinets.
A good hood keeps your kitchen cleaner. You need to be venting cooking smells and grease to the outside, otherwise your kitchen upper cabinets and ceiling are absorbing that stuff. If you’re cooking anything that pops or spatters, the vent should be on.
Or you could go with a single wall oven and put a microwave on a shelf below the oven.

Looks good...not too fitted, so when you replace the micro, you’re not stuck with a too precise hole.

yea i like the idea of the microwave in an open cabinet by the fridge.

Why are you doing a cooktop vs oven/stove combo
We did 1 under the stove and 1 in the wall. The microwave is on top the second oven.

wife doesn’t want to worry about kids around a hot oven

This is how we set ours up, In a opening by the fridge. The opening is plenty big for other microwaves of this one ever dies. The trim kit made it look like a more precise fit. The extra head space above the stove is key.

Your pictures aren’t showing up for many of us.
ETA: I’d love to be able to see what you’re working with. We did our kitchen a couple of years ago. I would be happy to share what we did, costs, experience, etc.
For reference here are photos of what we did. A before and one where we were nearly finished (still had finishing touches: install plumbing fixtures, crown moulding, and paint doors).
