I paid $6400 for both inside and outside 5 ton AC unit 5 years ago… out the door with install.

People finance those too. Much additional cost, but only option for some.

Agree….that sounds high, but there are a ton of different manufacturers and efficiencies that can run the cost up quickly if you are gullible…

People allow themselves to have their heads knocked off on AC systems! You can buy a high end air handler and condensor for $5K and the install shouldn't be more than $1200!
I just had a 3 ton DC inverter variable speed blower and compressor system put in for $3700 installed, then I'll get a 30% tax credit because it's a heat pump system. 10 year warranty too

How about during the pandemic I ended up with one of those instead of the carrier single stage I paid for... Because a mexican sent the forks through the side of the outside unit twice while it was being delivered.

I just paid 5k for a 3 ton outside unit. Someone we know is friends with the owner so we did get a discount, but not sure how much. 15k seems absurd.
