Urinating under deck
Stalking feeders
Going under the shop

I have used cat repellent from Lowe’s and Amazon. Citronella oil, mothballs and cayenne pepper powder. NOTHING works.

I don’t need the legal ramifications of popping them with BB guns, etc.

Any humane recs would be very appreciated.

I have 2 useless inside dogs. House is on 3 acres that is unfenced or I would go get the meanest Sob at the shelter.

Perhaps a chat with the neighbor? Cats don't really need to freely roam outside anyway.

If you are uncomfortable about confronting them directly about it and how you are upset about it, you should at least point out to them about worrying about them either getting hit by a car, attacked by a larger animal, even a hawk, etc.

Yeah. It’s coming.

We moved in a month ago and while I am pissed and looking for answers I am trying to fix it without having to discuss it with them. They have quite a few cats and it’s going to come to a head soon enough. Sucks that I have to be the a hole when all I want is to not have my house smell like cat piss.

I’m calling animal services and talking with them tomorrow to get options and cover my arse.

If push comes to shove I’ll trap them and relocate. I don’t expect the neighbor to be cooperative.

Edited to add. These are strays she feeds and she has SIX. none are indoor cats.

You need something like a German wirehair pointer. Great versatile dog that will frick up a cat

I’m having a similar issue except it’s neighbors that we’ve known for a while. Not only that, my kids have survived quarantine by playing with their kids.

But they got a cat about two months ago and want it to be an outside cat. It keeps coming into my yard and making my dog go nuts barking all the time.

I really don’t want to sour the friendship by going into a-hole mode but they haven’t understood me when I say politely, “let’s keep the cat out of my yard.”

I really don’t understand people. Like who in their right mind gets an animal and then sets it free into everyone else’s space? I wonder how they’d feel if I started taking my dog to their yard to shite. Maybe I’ll try that tactic.

Cat people are the worst. I had a neighbor with 4 plus cats and they would all come shite in my flower beds and scratch the piss out of my hood on my truck.

Don’t say anything, you just moved there and you don’t know where these cars are coming from...

With 3 acres you have space. Get a live trap and work with animal control to drop them off.

That's where I'd put the antifreeze. That way you'll get the right ones. Had that exact problem and didn't want to get the passing through dog.

eta: before you cry inhumane; there's nothing humane about how a cat kills (even if they eat it) and what they do to the balance of nature.

I came here to post this. I’m most areas this is legal and even encouraged to control the animal population.

Depending on the pound, they'll simply spay/neuter and release. But at least you know there won't be any more cats.

On the plus side... I bet you don't have chipmunk/mole/vole problems.

I’m at the point where I would put a bullet in them. They are undeterred regardless of what I do. These cats must like the smell of citronella and cayenne.

I don’t want legal issues. Looks like animal control and a trap will be what I do.

Cat people are also the ones who will call animal control on a dog running free, while their damn cats run the neighborhoods daily
