I'm going to give this stuff a shot based on what I've read here. VBW isn't too bad but annoys me.
Is it ok to put down in this heat? I'll merely be using a 4 gallon backpack sprayer and plan to mix .1 oz to the 4 gallons.
Any other advice is appreciated

Spot spray the VBW with a 4X dose....it works!

I found this method to be the best to control VBW, and got the advice here on TD!

Will 4 times the dose harm my centipede?

Yeah it’s certain to it, particularly it this heat. I wouldn’t exceed 0.5 gram (1/8 teaspoon) per 1000 sq ft of lawn. Even then expect some temporary yellowing of the centipede.

Will it kill carpetgrass? I have areas of it and really don’t want or need $150 of Celsius. Or however much it is for the smallest size.

MSM turf won’t touch carpetgrass. I had the same problem earlier this year with carpetgrass and decided to bite the bullet on the bottle of Celsius. They only make 1 size bottle (10oz) unfortunately. I thought about posting a thread on here to see if anyone wanted to go in 3-4 ways on a bottle cause I honestly don’t see myself using the whole thing. Anyways there are sellers on eBay that’ll ship you a few spot spray doses for like $20 if you don’t wanna take the $130 hit.

Don’t use 4x’s the rate. All herbicides are tested and labeled accordingly for a reason.

I spot sprayed with the label rate about 2 weeks ago here in BR and seems to be slowly knocking out the VBW with no ill effects on my centipede

Sprayed my VBW and Lespedeza trouble spots about 2 weeks ago and this heat is starting to kill it off much more quickly. The cetipede around it is suffering a little but seems to be hanging in there with some watering. I think I bought the smallest size last year and it was maybe $40.

Do yourself a favor and get a scale. Just makes things way easier. I use this one

Fuzion Digital Pocket Scale, 200g x 0.01g Jewelry Gram Scale, 6 Units Conversion Mini Scale with LCD Display, Tare Function for Food, Jewelry, Medicine, Coffee ( Battery Included ) LINK

t will burn some of the grass nearby....but if you dont kill the VBW, it will kill the grass anyway.

Thanks for reposting that, WPB (and for your avatar)

ronk, it seems to be difficult locating a 40 lb. bag of The Anderson' 16-0-8. Thinking about getting the same numbers in Ferti Lome. Good?

The measuring tool that comes with it indicates ounces. The bottom number is .0125oz. How many gallons is that for?

I'm using a 4 gallon sprayer. 1/4 tsp., right?
It seems that is about .04 ounces in the measuring tool.
I sure hope this is correct.

A high rate of Celsius is pretty much the only thing besides roundup that will kill carpetgrass
