If it's thick enough to hold fruit, yes I would cover it if you are going to see 27F.

PSA#2: it's going to be colder than expected.... god damn it. Every single weather service is now predicting at best frost conditions on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings and at worst (Fox 8 WVUE) a freeze on both mornings in south LA 9a. There will also be winds in the 30-40mph range. You need to get your things covered and anchored.

The next 48 hours are going to suck. Figs, loquats, jaboticabas, white sapote, and any non-lime citrus are on their own, fruiting or not. Guess I'll start rebuilding the 2nd greenhouse and wrapping bananas now. shite. I'm sorry for dragging some of you into this hobby. Don't do drugs, kids.

What weather app are you using? Weather underground is showing a low of 33 for me. I'm bringing everything potted inside and my citrus, banana, and stone fruits are on their own.

I know you have a lot to do so don’t worry about replying now, but I’m curious why you are protecting limes…because of blooms?

The most cold sensitive citrus on earth is a Buddha's Hand citron. The second most cold sensitive is a key lime, especially one in a pot. A key lime is not a citrus that should be exposed to frost.

Didn’t realize this. I guess it was only by coincidence I had protected it in the past. I have a Persian lime that’s out, but will protect it today.

Welp, here we are again. One last time. The sabara jaboticaba and 2 loquats will stay outside. Not worried about them and not in flower.

ETA: this is how you know it's a disease. Custom graft orders a year our for an experimental mango variety that has immense potential for container growing.

Definitely a mess with the frost potential!
All of my blueberries are in full bloom, stone fruit full of flowers. Plus I do a big vegetable garden and always plant early! Lots of work to do later, I will
Be waiting till the wind dies down close to dark, it’s very difficult to keep things in place fighting the wind!

What foliar fertilizer do you like to use?

And the brasolinde is a new one on me, looked it up! Very cool …you just spray it separate ? Or mix with foliar app ?

Few pics of my grafts …Winter Mexican onto a rootstock of unknown origin lol.

Cleft graft x1 and bark graft x1

The cleft graft I feel better about, bark graft ok. Definitely think the cambium was alive, but wasn’t suuper green? Time will tell.
Paraffin tape and covered with a mailer bag (bubble wrap/paper) increase humidity and limit UV.

That looks great man! Impressed. Going to be fun to watch this develop.

For foliar feed I like Microgenics. Kelp is also great. Brassinolide needs to be sprayed on its own and it doesn't keep once mixed. I usually make 8oz at a time and use it all. The concentrate is stored in the fridge.

Forecasts are slowly creeping down here. All week it was 35-37F. Now saying 32F. I feel better about all the work now. Still pissed.

Since finding out this is an option for my worthless male persimmon, I am consumed by it. I have three boxes of scions waiting for the right time. My wife is worried about me.

Yep. Sneaking down here too. This morning is the first time all my apps are saying 32F. Need that wind to keep up.
