with keyed alike deadbolt and regular door locks in the Gonzales Hwy 621 area. Don't want none of the modern "connected to the internet", keypads
smart door locks etc etc

TIA

Not being a smart arse…is there a reason you don’t want to do it yourself? If you go to Lowe’s you can buy 2 with the same code so you can already use the same key. Or buy kwikset keyed alike and manually rekey one to use the keys of the other.

Or maybe you mean you’re trying to get two new locks to match other locks already in your house?

You can DIY it very easily these days.

Really. It's as simple as removing some screws to take the lockset apart and replacing them with the new lock.

It's not like you have to drill the holes in the door and jamb and then do a bit of chisel work to recess the lock and striker plate.

keypads

This is a completely retarded take. It's a backstop if I lose a key in an uber, I can make sure the kids can get in when they get home unexpectedly early, etc. My keypad isn't internet connected, it's programmed locally. Just get one with real buttons, not "screen" buttons, since I've learned glare from concrete can make the screen version have trouble detecting where you touch, like this (it supports SmartKey, so you can make it work with your existing key):

My wife does the same thing where she saw advertisements for some keypads that can be unlocked via phone and need a Bluetooth connection; so she just assumes that all of them are connected to the internet and people can drive down the street and hack your door.

It can get exhausting explaining it to her because she "saw it on the internet" so I finally got her to agree to the magnet hide a key in a very inconvenient spot away from the house. She was skeptical of this until the time she needed it with 2 young kids crying about how hot it is and needing to go inside

If you don’t want to do it yourself, any handyman can handle the job. Doesn’t require a locksmith. I’m terrible at home improvement stuff, but I’ve changed all the doorknobs, deadbolts, etc. in my house a couple of times.

Agreed…a locksmith is going to needlessly charge a shitload for that.

I saw a key pad on a house today with a fingerprint scanner. I've never seen that before. What made it more interesting was I was in the East off Morrison and Mayo.
