I have a regular sub division yard, with nice sized patio and driveway.

Get an electric Toro. Yeah I know the electrical cord can be a pain sometimes but it solves your problems and it's cost effective.

My Echo had some tiny little catalytic converter and baffle plate in the muffler. Just two T25 bolts and 5 minutes late and all that stuff was removed and the blower sounds much better. PB-255MN now.

Consider Greenworks especially if you plan on other tools down the road - maintain battery network of tools.

Echo gas would be a good option.

This. Had a PB-250 last nearly 20 years, replaced it with a PB-255LN about 7 years ago. All my other stuff is Stihl and Honda but Echo just makes a great blower for the money and a 5 years residential warranty doesn't hurt either.

Another vote for Echo gas. Plenty of power and the warranty is 3 years better than Stihl.

I own a ton of Stihl products and they are all top notch. I've had the strongest Stihl handheld model twice and they both broke down (heavy use). The 5 year warranty on the Echo can't be beat.

I do have a Stihl backpack blower that is money. Never had a problem. The backpack models have more power and less fatigue on your arms.

We've got a big-arse leaf blower for the yard and an $88 Black & Decker battery-powered blower for walkways and decks.

We use that lightweight battery blower way more often.

If you have alot of trees/leaves consider getting one of these. We used both brands on our commercial roofing projects for years. Granted, the roofs were flat, smooth surfaced membrane roofs compared to yards but we'd blow down a 100,000 sq ft roof like nothing. I borrowed one from our warehouse to use on my yard and it was amazing the power they blow and move debris with. Some come self propelled now and I saw one that had a pivoting front wheel to steer easier. Only showing these options since I think most residential homeowners aren't aware of them. But if they have a small lot, they're not going to need one.

Get one for the wife. Battery operated.
She'll think it's only hers and
Will do all the leaf blowing. It's an addiction with women.

I had an echo gas one for 15 years. Always started on the 2nd pull. I always put non-ethonal gas in it. Did not have a single problem.

Bought the highest cfm EGO one about 2 years ago and i've really liked it. I got the EGO multi head unit as well so i can weedeat, edge, and pole saw with it.
My EGO battery started giving me problems this past summer. Kept stop working saying it was overheating. Customer service with EGO was not helpful, and I haven't had an issue with the battery this fall/winter. I do store it outside, and it was hot as shite this summer, but that still seemed odd to me. I'll be irritated if it starts not working again in the summer.
I did buy a off brand battery on amazon when i first got the multihead unit about a year ago and it worked perfectly fine in the summer in the same exact conditions.

15 years with no issues whatsoever on the Echo. WHile i love that EGO, i seriously doubt that battery lasts even half of the 15 years, and i might have spent $10/yr on gas/oil for my blower and weedeater previously.
All in all, i'd still prefer the EGO, even if i only get 5 years out of the battery.

I have Stihl and Echo and would choose either. I find the Echo is a little easier to start and that’s about it. I have a Ryobi hedger and Air Pump on a battery and the battery life is just not there to warrant going with edger or blower. My Mom has the small black and decker battery blower and loves it for her small use on the patio and sidewalk.

My last gas blower just became a huge annoyance towards the end of its lifespan.

Switched to battery powered and am never going back to gas. It’s lighter and easier to maneuver around, not having to crank it all the time is so nice. Makes going back and forth from the weedeater to the blower much more convenient.

Love my EGO blower. I believe its the 650 CFM one. I got it back in 2018. Got a bunch of different batteries from other EGO power tools, so I always have one that's charged. Can't recommend enough.

Should I buy a Stihl

Stihl or go home. Last for years and start on a least the second crank every time after priming. Sometimes the first.
