Looking like below 25 next week. I have a poor track record, so I am asking.

I am, I lost a lot of new growth last year when I didn't cover. I'm also wrapping up with christmas lights before covering just to be safe.

I am. I use the biggest moving blankets I can find at harbor freight.

ETA: mine are still relatively small.

Are you using any heat or just cover?

Just ordered some sort of Zip up cover on Amazon for my cara cara orange. Might put Christmas lights under it.

I have a projected low of 17F for Monday night, so I may add an incandescent light. But last year I used just the blankets on my Meyer lemon when temps got into the 20’s and that was plenty sufficient.

Forecast updated to a low of 11. I may not even bother. This tree is small and has never even flowered.

This is what I’m wondering for other plants overall, like Birds of Paradise and philodendrons - is it even worth it?
Can the growth be saved with any reasonable measures (cover with lights)?
Or is it more about just protecting the root system so it doesn’t die outright?

I found Christmas lights on Amazon that can be delivered quickly.

Going to be 21 here briefly. Will putting lights around the base without covering do any good?

I lost my three satsumas to the snow last year. I was devastated.

That sucks. So many people lost mature citrus. Used to be able to find some neighbor giving away all that satsumas you could want or eat. That well has gone dry.
