If your cars headlights are oxidized (yellowing) the Cerekote headlight kit works great.

Best $15 I've spent in a while. Ready to apply. No drills. Just deoxidize wipes. Sand with 2000 grit, then 3000 grit (cones with kit) then clean and apply ceramic. Best results I've gotten so far.
I was about to get new headlights but I can push that down the list with this stuff.

I was getting tires rotated at Wallyworld a couple weeks ago and saw they do headlight restoration for $38 bucks. I went ahead and had them do it and they came out great! Just like brand new.

How long does the Cerekote restoration last? For years I use a bottle of Meguires Swirl X. The bottle was about $7 and I'm still using it. I think that light compound product was for getting swirls out of paint but a friend told me years ago about using it on headlamps. I don't use any abrasives, just pit a bit on an applicator or shop rag and start rubbing it on the headlamps wet and don't stop until it's clean. Takes about 2 minutes per lamp cover. But it only holds up for about 5-6 months before I have to reapply. If Cerekote is more long term I would like to give it a try.

i've tried multiple kits and the headlights came out looking like shite so i'll spend $38 to have a place with better tools and experience than me take a shot at it.

Tried it and it improved headlights a bit . Can yellowing come from the inside of plastic cover ? Help .

i looked online and you can get a set of Mercedes headlights for like $150..
...but....
you have to freaking take the car apart to install them including removing the entire front bumper.
frick you Mercedes.
eta and don't get me started on what it takes to remove the HEADRESTS
fricking AWFUL. toyota gives you a button on the top of the seat you hold down to slide them off like a normal rational fricking car manufacturer.

look it up. you have to remove the entire back of the seat (and i'm sure that's going to go back on without a hitch) and use specialized tools just to release the 2 metal rods. i need to remove the passenger one because for some inexplicable reason, the damn thing is broken and hanging down like a man being hung. WHY IN THE frick DO YOU HAVE TO HAVE TWO SEPARATE PIECES FOR A MOTHERfrickER HEADREST IN THE FIRST PLACE.
THIS SHOULD BE THE SIMPLEST DESIGN IN THE UNIVERSE

I recommend this stuff also. Bought a used truck in April and wanted to replace the headlights but that would be around $500 even as a DIY job. I tried this stuff instead and I’m very happy with the results. Like you, I can also put off replacing them for a while now.

I didn't have time to do a multi step process on my MIL's, I just got the blue bottle stuff and rubbed on, buffed off. It got them really clear.

Good product. Only thing I’d advise is if they are extremely oxidized 2000 grit may not be strong enough. You can do 1000 grit also but doesn’t come with the product

I've used the 3M kit before with excellent results. The key to making it last is to apply a UV sealer after it's finished. I polished/sealed our 4Runner headlights 3 yrs ago and still look like they did after polishing.
